This is a breaking news situation.
A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.
The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.
I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.
Does anyone remember the Angola jail break of the death row inmates a few years ago. You should have seen us down here. I thought an invasion was coming what with everyone locked and loaded and the womenfolk forbidden from leaving the house.
The court reporter could be the victim of an errant shot..or, if the guy is delusiona;, he could have imagined some slight to himself by the reporter duirng the trial..
Better lock and load then.
Keep safe, and remember that the murderer of the judge's family broke into the home and hid in the basement while the people had no idea he was inside.
Sometimes it hits me hard that you might, with no malice or intention, do something to someone like this guy. Like maybe look surprised at him or kind of frown and then, bang, he gets you.
Often as I walk down the street I have that thought. You just never know when you rub up against the wrong person in the wrong place. It is a scary, sobering thought. I suspect that is why nobody on public conveyances looks at you in the eye. Except in Louisiana where we all compare family trees to see if we are cousins.
The woman with the gun should never ever have entered this man's cell with her weapon. Procedure says she hands the gun to someone outside the cell when she enters.
Exactly! Gotta love that one. I usually credit her, but sometimes get in a hurry.
Abramson was the one trying his case.
yep.
Many years ago, Jesse Jackson, tyalking about crime, said that if he was walking down a street in Harlem, and he saw three young blacks wlaking after him..he'd run..
House porn is not a new phrase, friend of my has been using it for years. My phrase is tool competent. After watching 20 years of TOH and Hometime, I "think" I could build one from the ground up. Alas, thinking and doing are two different things. But I can complete tasks around the house and don't have to call a handyman anymore. LOL
You mean, will there be a review of forced AA hiring? A review of massive incompetence and negligence in the Sheriff's department and the Atlanta Superior Court?
I think the short answer is, "No."
My best guess is that there will be a scape-goat or two who will be fired or convinced to resign. Then things will tighten up for a month or so. Then everything will go right back to business as usual.
Violent felons will once again be permitted to roam the courthouse without restraints or stun belts.
Deputies will be unqualified, ill-trained and unsupervised.
But the important thing is that they will all be the right color, the right sex and the right persuasion.
years ago I was walking to my apartment inn New Orleans, corner of Claiborne and Canal, late. I heard a man running toward me and looked around and there he was coming. I broke into a run screaming like a banshee and windows opened and people were watching.
Well, he ran right past me. Months later at a party, a professor at Tulane was describing an hilarious event when he went out for a job and some girl started screaming. He said "you should have seen the dame's face when I passed her by" laughing. The whole party laughed. I didn't confess.
Good to hear it.
I never heard the term, but I am so out of the loop that I thought the loop was gone.
There will be no coverup.....just my opinion but this crime supercedes the race issue.
