This is a breaking news situation.
A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.
The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.
I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.
Not sure why you meant that post for me?
What the... I just heard the chief say a "weapon was found at the scene"...
And YET...the AJC reporter was PISTOL whipped...so..this would lead one to assume he has/had more than one weapon??
They'd better not turn this into a "it was someone else's gun, so only cops should have guns" crusade.
"We always worry about this sort of stuff, the courthouse necessarily attracts lowlifes and crazies."
You find four types in a Courthouse:
Lawyers
Cops
People who work there
People who smell bad
Some people fill more than one of the above.
That would be odd. How's he pulling off these carjackings?
he will be gone in a week. Can't "show-up" the political big wig in downtown Atlanta. How dare he.
Does this mean that he is unarmed?
I thought the guy doing the news conference said they still weren't sure if it was the female's gun that was taken/used. Maybe I missed something.
Police Chief - "The Sheriff should answer that"
Fulton Co. Sheriff - "There are alleged allegations about an alleged misplacement of an alleged object alleged by an alleged spokesperson allegedly with my alleged office, but I allegedly cannot veryify the allegation. Keep in my mind, all this is just alleged, your mileage may vary, remove wrapper before heating."
So what did he pistol-whip the reporter with?
I can't believe I've actually managed to catch up on this thread.
Speculation: Ditched the first gun in favor of the one off of the dead deputy outside.
I don't know.
At least Beverly Howard isn't still there as Police Chief. What an embarrassment. She really was a "talk to the hand" kinda gal.
I'm pretty sure it was the female whom he overpowered. Maybe they are just not sure that was the gun he used.
Perp could have taken the second deputy's weapon, leaving the first weapon behind.
During the news conference the Atlanta PD Chief said the gun was taken from the female deputy.
If a big guy told me to get out of the car or he was going to kill me, I don't care if he has a gun or not...I'm gone.
they don't have an idea where he is, apparently
You forgot the ummmmms and uhhhhhhhhs.
I have no problem with female deputies, but just be smart about it. If you have a 220 pound dude, bring backup for god's sake.
