I would say something but this topic seems to get pulled a lot on this board. I had my first reply ever pulled on a topic concerning this. So, I do not know the whole story behind it, but don't be surprised if this one is pulled too. For some reason, defending your homeland is a no-no.

Mexico needs to focus on the reasons why the US economy can absorb a million immigrants each year and still have the lowest unemployment figures in the world, while their economy can not even absorb its own working class.

They need to analyze why it is that its people are willing to risk their lives and brave all the problems of life as an illegal worker in order to get away from the homeland they love. They need to consider why it is that, however bad they try to paint the treatment of Mexican illegals in the US, it is better than life at home and everyone knows it.

There, in the answer to that question, lies the path to wisdom. When Mexico learns to answer that question, its citizens won't have to leave in droves and the other issue will evaporate.

I dont think thats why some illegal immigrant threads get pulled. I think some get pulled during bouts of overt "racism" or when violence is suggested, things like that.

The discussions on illegal immigration are important however, specifically because of the feelings they invoke.

It is hard to talk about illegals without the anger causing a bit of name-calling (racism) now and then. Maybe Mr. Robinson will understand this and let some threads continue for awhile - this issue needs a good airing out, IMO.

Perhaps Mexicos best solution to protecting their citizens would be to place their army on their side of the fence to turn back those who would transgress upon our soil.

The problem is the Mexican Army is at the southern border keeping illegals out of Mexico from the rest of latin america.

Mexico has a harsh policy on illegals in their country...

The prevalency of corruption in Mexican culture could still result in their passing through paying "customers" from Nations or national groups who intend to bring us grief and harm.

I, too, have wondered whether discussion is barred because this site backs the Bush doctrine on Mexico, as blindly on everything else. It seems to imply that the only place to defend the US is elsewhere in the world rather than on our own soil.

That principle is utterly baffling and will, as Hillary surmises, and Rush warns, earn that fiend a seat in the oval office.

Good for Rush; but, where is our so-called conservative President on all of this. It is good and fine to spread democracy throughout the world; but, you have to defend it at home too.
