The claims of an Italian journalist who says U.S. troops shot her for no reason after she was released by terrorist kidnappers on Friday keep getting wilder and wilder.
Now Giuliana Sgrena, who writes for the anti-American newspaper Il Manifesto, insists that U.S. forces used a tank to gun her and her entourage down.
"A tank started to shoot at us without any sign or any light," Sgrena maintained to reporters on Monday. "It was not a checkpoint, so I can't explain it." She also hinted that U.S. forces deliberately targeted her, saying that they had been told she and her rescuers were on their way.
"Our car was driving slowly," and "the Americans fired without motive," she wrote in a report for Il Manifesto on Sunday.
U.S. military spokesmen have admitted that troops fired on Sgrena's car, but did so only because it was trying to run a military checkpoint, but that no tanks were involved in the incident.
These Europeans are morons, if they believe this garbage. But I guess they do.
I got no use for em.
I can't imagine that most Italians will be taking her seriously after awhile. By the time she's done, she'll be claiming that she was killed, and that she is now a ghost come back to haunt the evil Americans.
Are you suggesting that the round that killed him might not have been from a US military weapon? Oh, my...
I think it is probable that she instigated the entire thing by screaming at the driver to speed up and run the checkpoint, trying to get the soldiers to shoot at the car, hoping that she could turn it into an international incident.
LOL........That's 2 !
Her motives are clear. First, his death allows her to bad mouth the US, yet again. But, she knew that he would have to tell about his knowledge of her collaboration with the Muslim terrorists, before AND after her kidnapping. And, there is the money. He actually paid the Muslim kidnappers about half the cash he was authorized to offer. Once she killed him, she got to keep the balance.
No, once the investigation is over, it will become clear that she murdered the brave Italian agent and profited mightily from it. We don't, however, wish her to leave the middle-east because she is the one who has been providing the Mossad, IDF and CIA with such useful targeting information. The terrorists did not find this out or they would not have released her alive, no matter how high the ransom.

Had those soldiers intended her to be dead, she would be.
Well, if she were shot by a U.S. tank, she would have a hole in her as big as............................................................her mouth.
So her car was at normal speed and she admits she did not see the checkpoint. Therefore she tried to drive through it at full speed.
I do have a problem with her being shot. She did not die. If that had been a car bomb, our guys would be dead. They need to USE a tank next time.
Not much forensics necessary, he got shot is pretty easy. Not much refrigeration there either, which is why corpses hit the dirt in one day in the Middle East. When you do not do the embalming thing, you don't exactly want to have the body lay around in the living room for a week.
She is to funny.........
maybe there's a way they can automatic video cams that easily actuate ,with bright lights at night, to instantly start filming things like this when they start to happen. In this
day & age when anything and everything is quickly reduced to anti-American propaganda , we need a way to PROVE our side of the story in an irrefutable manner , to the disbelieving World
(media)
What the hell was she doing in Iraq to begin with.
I will give credit to Chris Matthews on MSNBC as he said tonight that she was anti-American working for a socialist newspaper.
That 6 mil to the Terr perps will get a lot of GI's and Iraqis murdered, and maybe even some Italian service members.
Why isn't this bitch up on terrorist collaboration charges?
Why is the Italian governement not being brought to task for aiding and abetting the enemy while they have troops in Iraq?
