"Terry Nichols' Former Home Searched by FBI"
Updated: Friday, Apr. 1, 2005 - 5:29 AM
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "HERINGTON, Kan. (AP) - FBI agents Thursday searched a home where Oklahoma City bombing co-conspirator Terry Nichols used to live after receiving a report that there were explosives inside.
If explosives are found, FBI spokesman Jeff Lanza said, agents will investigate whether they are connected to Nichols, who has not lived in the home near downtown Herington for years.
Residents in nine homes near the house were evacuated during the search, which continued late Thursday.
Nichols was living in the home at the time of the April 19, 1995, bombing, which killed 168 people."

Travel Warning
United States Department of State
Bureau of Consular Affairs
Washington, DC 20520
This information is current as of today, Fri Apr 01 2005 04:10:20 GMT-0800.
CONGO-KINSHASA
March 30, 2005
This Travel Warning for the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Congo-Kinshasa) is being issued to update security information and registration requirements, and to note the Department of State continues to warn U.S. citizens against travel to the country. This Travel Warning supersedes the Travel Warning issued August 19,2004.
The Department of State warns U.S. citizens against travel to Democratic Republic of the Congo. Despite efforts to advance the peace process following the 2003 formation of a transitional government, there has been periodic fighting in North and South Kivu and other areas of eastern Congo. Wide-scale civil unrest occurred in May and June 2004; rioting and looting took place in many cities, including the capital Kinshasa, resulting in United Nations (U.N.) peacekeeper and civilian casualties. Likewise, demonstrations in several areas of Kinshasa in January 2005 resulted in civilian and police casualties. The challenges of implementing national elections scheduled for 2005 raise the possibility of further civil disturbances over the next several months.
Though a U.N. observer force is deployed to a number of locations throughout the country, unofficial armed groups and active duty troops operating in some parts of the country are responsible for pillaging, vehicle thefts, carjackings, extra-judicial killings, rapes, kidnappings, ethnic tensions, and continued military/paramilitary operations. The large number of rebel and government soldiers to be decommissioned as a result of the peace process poses another source of potential security concerns. Travelers may be subject to detention and questioning by ill-disciplined security forces. There are numerous military roadblocks throughout the country. While government-imposed curfews are no longer in effect, they could be reinstated upon short notice if the security situation deteriorates. Travelers to the Democratic Republic of the Congo have routinely experienced difficulties at the airport and other ports of entry, being temporarily detained by immigration and security personnel demanding payment of unofficial special fees. Entry visas at the port of entry are not available. All foreigners, including Americans, are required to register at the office of the Direction General de Migration (DGM) in the commune of their place of residence. Foreigners may be required to produce their jeton (registration ticket) at security checkpoints and when departing the country.
Travel in the eastern provinces, especially in rural areas, remains unsafe due to continued sporadic attacks by uncontrolled militias. Land borders with Rwanda may temporarily close with little or no notice.
Americans should avoid demonstrations and areas where crowds are gathered, exercise extreme caution, and continuously review their personal security posture. Changing security conditions result in periodically restricted travel by U.S. Mission personnel.
U.S. citizens who travel to or reside in Congo-Kinshasa despite this Travel Warning are strongly advised to register through the State Departments travel registration website, https://travelregistration.state.gov. Americans without Internet access may register directly with the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate. By registering, American citizens make it easier for the Embassy or Consulate to contact them in case of emergency. The U.S. Embassy is located at 310 Avenue des Aviateurs, tel. 243-81-225-5872. Entrance to the Consular Section of the Embassy is on Avenue Dumi, opposite Ste. Anne residence. The Consular Section of the Embassy may be reached at tel. 243-81-884-6859, 243-81-884-4609; fax 243-81-301-0560. Cellular phones are the norm, as other telephone service is often unreliable. U.S. citizens should also consult the Department of State's most recent Consular Information Sheet for Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Worldwide Caution Public Announcement, which are located on the Department's Internet web site at http://travel.state.gov. Up-to-date information on safety and security can also be obtained by calling 1-888-407-4747 toll free in the U.S., or for callers outside the U.S. and Canada, a regular toll-line at 1-202-501-4444. These numbers are available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday (except U.S. federal holidays).

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT
U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE
Office of the Spokesman
This information is current as of today, Fri Apr 01 2005 04:13:08 GMT-0800.
Russia
March 30, 2005
This Public Announcement is being updated to remind American citizens traveling or living in Russia that there remains a heightened potential for terrorist actions, including attacks against civilians. This situation is likely to continue for some time. This supersedes the public announcement of October 27, 2004 and expires on September 30, 2005.
Acts of terrorism including bombings and hostage taking have occurred in Russia over the last several years. Bombings have occurred at Russian government buildings, hotels, tourist sites, markets, entertainment venues, schools, residential complexes, and on public transportation including the subway and scheduled commercial air flights. Hostage taking incidents have included a raid on a school that resulted in horrific losses of life of children, teachers, and parents.
There is no current indication that American institutions or citizens are targets but there is a general risk of American citizens being victims of indiscriminate terrorist attacks. American citizens in Russia should be aware of their personal surroundings and follow good security practices. Americans are urged to remain vigilant and exercise good judgment and discretion when using any form of public transportation. When traveling, Americans may wish to provide a friend, family member, or coworker a copy of their itinerary. Americans should avoid large crowds and public gatherings that lack enhanced security measures. Travelers should also exercise a high degree of caution and remain alert when patronizing restaurants, casinos, nightclubs, bars, theaters, etc., especially during peak hours of business.
Due to continued civil and political unrest throughout much of the Caucasus region, the Department of State already warns U.S. citizens against travel to Chechnya and all areas that border it: North Ossetia, Ingushetia, Dagestan, Stavropol, Karachayevo-Cherkessiya and Kabardino-Balkariya. United States government personnel are generally prohibited from traveling to these areas, and American citizens residing in these areas should depart immediately as the safety of Americans and other foreigners cannot be effectively guaranteed.
American citizens living in Russia or traveling there for even a few days are strongly urged to register with the embassy or nearest consulate general. Registration will allow the embassy to provide direct information on the security situation as necessary. Registration is done on-line and can be done in advance of travel. Information on registering can be found at the embassy web www.usembassy.ru or at the Department of State's Consular Affairs website: http://travel.state.gov/travel/tips/registration/registration_1186.html.
As the department continues to develop information on any potential security threats to U.S. citizens overseas, it shares credible threat information through its consular information program documents, available on the Internet at http://travel.state.gov. In addition to information on the Internet, travelers may obtain up-to-date information on security conditions by calling 1-888-407-4747 toll-free in the U.S. or outside the U.S. and Canada on a regular toll line at 1-202-501-4444.

re: Agent "X"
RUMINT has suggested for a while that AQ, using some former-Soviet scientists, had been working on a genetic combination of smallpox and ebola. Smallpox is highly contagious, but only lethal in about 20-25% of cases. Ebola has a mortality rate above 90%, but lacks the ability to spread rapidly via airborne particles. Let's hope it's just that, a rumor.

"There is no other version but suicide," Oleksander Turchynov said, citing forensic and ballistics tests..."Kravchenko was found dead with two gunshot wounds to the head..."
How inventive. BTW, Turchynov is head of the Ukranian Security Service.

You're welcome. Just another one of those disturbing stories no one is paying attention to.
Thanks for posting this.
I had not seen this anywhere before and it is an important report. I suppose all the other distressing news in recent days preempted more extensive coverage of it.
TM is wonderful!
Sheesh, those jihadis sure do set some lofty goals for themselves (with the help of allah).
Too bad their motivating force is pure hatred, destruction and homicide.
Otherwise their relentless focus and planning could accomplish much for their fellow man.
Koran scholar: US will cease to exist in 2007. . . by a tsunami . . .
It sure is. Lisa Myers of MSNBC originated the story - surprising that they didn't cover it on the cable network. I think people flying in and out of JFK have a right to know this information.
The impact that this would have on the pump prices depends upon who was buying at that price and how sustained the high prices are IMHO. If maintained long enough the impact to our economy would be significant. Global economic impact would be staggering also.
In fact, I think we'd have to view OPEC as a terrorist entity...which in fact they are.....although our government would be forced to recognize them as such.....right?
These are open market (capitolistic) derived prices and from what I read there are several causes driving prices. The major one is China and to some degree India beginning to purchase significantly more than in the past due to growth in their economies. The second factor are limited supplies as OPEC maintains a fix on production. The last is great uncertainity in supply as some areas of the world are very questionable as far as governmental stability and willingness to sell to certain countries.
IMHO, bottom line is just as we can forget about seeing <$2 / gallon gas we can forget seeing <$40/barrel oil.
Well, there will be no radiation and the effects will be fairly localized depending on the mixture of gasoline to air and volume of each. Figure something like a MEGA "Daisy Cutter" but limited to the immediate area of the tank farm. Those things are not usually located in residential areas. It would be bad enough to register on earthquake sensors around the country but the blast effects would probably be limited to shock wave shattering glass in area buildings and such. Of course, anybody in the immediate area of the explosion is going to be killed either from the fire storm or the sucking of oxygen from the area or by the shock wave/over pressure effects.
It would seem to me, that if MS13 is within 6 blocks of a school; the prudent man would: require more armed personnel on the school grounds, a fence should go up around the school, maybe cement blocks should be put in strategic areas, a metal detector should be installed, the police should be REQUIRED to give your school extra daily patrols and radio log them after each one, and any students with gang affiliations should be suspended from school. That's for starters.
First off, nobody cares about lawsuits originating from the inner city. That sounds harsh, but it's a fact.
My school has always been pretty tough and already has a fence with iron bars (no chain link here!) and curved at the top, not outward, but inward to prevent ummmm "escapes." There are part time school cops that are armed, but none of the security types are armed and the regular cops only appear on campus to make arrests. School was built in 1933 so it's already a fortress. The cops are busy full time with SWAT calls etc. Sirens are an hourly fixture already. The cops won't just come and hang out! Such is life in the Big (inner) City.
Gang affiliates are supposed to be suspended, but in reality that's not done and if it were, we'd have to transfer teachers to other possibly worse schools, because the school population would decline.
Death doesn't end accusations, bitterness

That bastard Michael not allowing her family there and at the funeral makes no sense in his argument in regards her wish to die. She was killed and he is so mean and spiteful, how can they not see what he was about all along?!
Me too but saw Beauty Shop, how funny! Saw Pacifier last week and want to buy it -g-
Well a Daisy Cutter in that area, especially daytime, would mean thousands of deaths, the trailer court I mentioned immediately next to it, police training within 1/4 mile, dozens of motels close to the airport but in the immediate area, it is a very congested area with fast food/restaurants, this tank area sits right on the corner by a myriad of traffic on Elmhurst/Higgins, very central, very congested, alot of commerce like FedEx etc.
