Parents: 4th-Grade Girl To Become Boy Mom Says Youngster Has Male Brain
METHUEN, Mass. -- A fourth-grader who was attending a Methuen elementary school as a girl before February vacation has returned to school as a boy.
The parents of the 9-year-old child said the youngster was born with the body of a girl, but the brain of a boy.
They have asked that he be referred to and treated as a boy by teachers and other students, and school officials are accommodating the request. The parents have even changed the child's name.
The child's mother told The Eagle-Tribune that the family made the decision after consulting with medical professionals. She said the child is still biologically a girl.
The mother has requested that the family not be identified to protect the child.
School Superintendent C. Phillip Littlefield said there is nothing harmful about the child being in the school.
No -that's not a question that is detour from physical reality...The exception IF this case is one is an abnormality and eceptions do not define the norm... Gender is assumed by looking and ultimately confirmed AFTER puberty and all it entails -the parents here are ignoring nature...
Man, they should have left her alone!
She would have groan up to be the smartest woman in the world.
Dr. Zoo, wouldn't one of your Personality Transplantstm worked better?
Sure.
But what does that prove?
If you take a female fetus and expose it to large amounts of androgens (male hormones) while it's in the womb, it will come out with a male-type brain. So it's still "biologically" a woman in the sense of chromosomes, but the brain is not like that of a normal woman.
And then it naturally follows that we should modify the body to be the same as the brain (because we can't modify the brain to change sex with our current technology, and it would probably be highly unethical to do so even if we could)
That is going to be one severely messed-up kid in about 5 years, and that mess is going to last for decades.
Well naturally. Remember Jesus rejected religion for Truth.
THIS school, in THIS town, in THIS state will celebrate it.
These parents should be arrested for abuse.
That and she kept measuring this line _____________ as 6 inches.
"If you take a female fetus and expose it to large amounts of androgens (male hormones) while it's in the womb, it will come out with a male-type brain. So it's still "biologically" a woman in the sense of chromosomes, but the brain is not like that of a normal woman."
The exposure to these hormones would have to be the result of their own bodies for this to occur. And since this is a "female" body and not a "male" one, the glands would secrete estorogen. This would over ride a pre-pubecent child's "male" brain.
They had a tomboy and decided to mutilate the kid to make her "normal"
Take your anti-religious cr*p elsewhere -if you have a gripe with someones opinion address them specifically!!!
Well...we will never know how much they investigated "biologically". It could have been the writer of the article just stating "the girl is biologically a female" so the readers would not be confused that it was born a boy.
There are several combintations of chromosomes that could have made this an ambiguous case. This would have made for a longer and therefore more noteworthy (front page) article. These could have been easily stated without to much detail or tiem required. If this was a hermaphrodite, for interest's sake, they would have mentioned it.
This is a cut and dry transexual, of her parent's wishes.
Does this mean she's good at math and has a sense of direction?
Truly draconian; Is no legal process required? Parents can just employ a clinic to mutilate a child...?
"It doesn't say she was a hermaphrodite, it says she was born with the body OF A GIRL/ and is biologically a girl as well."
BINGO. XX in the girl, and all the perks.
Now shes just going to piss off her future girlfriends (or boyfriends?) when she has her period while dating them. Mood swings of that magnitude from a guy?
Me and you both!
Talk about pushing the envelope!
Only in Massachussettes.
Ditto!
