WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Lee Boyd Malvo will not stand trial for a sniper shooting in Manassas, Virginia, according to a prosecutor who said Tuesday's U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning juvenile executions would make a trial pointless. Malvo, who was 17 during a shooting spree that terrorized the Washington, D.C. area in fall 2002, is now serving life sentences for two of the 10 sniper shootings. Prince William County, Virginia, Commonwealth's Attorney Paul Ebert said it "doesn't make sense" to try Malvo for the death of Dean Harold Meyers now that the Supreme Court has ruled that people cannot be executed for crimes they committed as juveniles.

So life in prison isn't an option? OK so no death penalty, but not try the case at all? Doesn't make sense.

The 5 Activist Justices who signed this opinion need to be impeached
International opinion shouldn't matter. The international community has no right to influence and make our laws.
Tell it to Justice Kennedy :-)
impeaching these jackasses is only the first step. this was like giving a 'license to kill' to 100s of little animals.
this isnt EVEN CLOSE to interpreting the Constitution...its even way beyond whiny, hand-wringing, bleeding- heart liberal insanity.
The government wont protect the borders and now this....God help us.
Have the baliff let the press know when he's gonna' hit the street, and where, and the people will know what to do even if the most expensive Justices money can buy don't have a clue.
Alternatively somebody now in jail is going to have to "volunteer" for taking care of this problem. After all, prisoners do have some fundamental human rights, one of which is to not be locked up with a mass murdering terrorist.
That's the Dahmer option.
It's more common than generally understood.
We can have the cops keep guard outside in case one of them tries to escape.
Paging Mark Levin paging Mark Levin
Think if Mark's on the case we can get this Malvo character out on a furlough for a few hours?
I like your #11. Mark could make the arrangements and drop Malvo at Kennedy's abode. OTOH, that might be considered cruel and unusual punishment for Malvo.
Oh pray tell, what would the Europeans think?
they should ask michael jackson, i bet he could do some age verification.
All the more reason for the "nuclear option" to get judicial nominees confirmed. Several good and sensible SCOTUS justices would be a great legacy for GWB.
