Ok...it was ok. Yes, my hopes were high. I am still fuming so I came back. Poor FReepers, you are my place to vent! I just imagined the tribute to Carson would be really special because of all he did for so many. We are getting the tapes/DVD of his shows. If I never watch TV again and only watch them I will be happy. Not one program on today is so entertaining...and he did it all extemporaneously - without curseing, shouting, or vulgarity. Thank goodness I can still see some of them.

She can never find a top that fits. The pink Calvin Klien that she wore when she won her oscar was a terrible fit, it just hung off of her.

The thing is, watching the show "helps" with the jokes on the thread.

I know. I tried just following the thread, but curiosity is too great.

----They are showing a lot of Mickey tonight. I'm glad, he's a good guy.----

Anyone see Mickey at Reagan's funeral? He was in the line of people coming up to the casket to pay respects.... he had some support walking up to it, but when he got there he stood on his own, barely holding back tears, and snapped off a crisp salute. Then the other guy took his arm again and led him away. One of the images of those few days that has endured the most in my mind.

I fear that we have at least a generation of "stars" with no talent.

Stars they are not. No talents, yes but stars? No.

If you ever see the Sharon Stone remake of "Gloria", directed by Lumet, you'll believe he's lost any ounce of talent he ever may have had.

These lifetime things are ridiculous ways of rolling out the almost dead for exploitation of the fans who still remember their films. Tomorrow they go back to the old folks home and abject poverty.

what offends me about the johnny carson tribute is that everyone seems to have forgotten that bob hope was the host for years and he was great....he just never gets mentioned! i realize that mr carson just passed away but still....and you're right about being pathetic....chris rock hasn't said one thing yet to make me laugh! i must not be getting it! too old? and that routine done from the magic johnson theater was so NOT funny....

Nice to see you here, too. The peace crowd does not ever want to acknowledge that war is sometimes necessary. They have never learned. Robbins would apparently rather see the rape rooms and torture chambers doing business as usual. I think I once figured that about 118 people a day are being spared because Hussein is gone.

HERE'S A CLUE FOR YOU: the entire living and breathing world isn't a poltitical discussion and/or debate.

Some of us are able to 'separate' and actually enjoy ourselves for a little while.

I remember that. He's had a iffy personal life, but seems like a good guy to me overall. A legend.
