If the Minuteman project wishes to become involved at the border, they must remain unarmed and peaceful. They cannot detain. They must work in an advisory status only.

Turth be told, I think they should be able to aprehend and detain north of the border. The fact is, the border patrol will turn on them like rabid dogs, if they do so.

This will probably get ugly. Perhaps that's a good thing. If the feds get the idea the citizens of this nation have had it, perhaps they'll get off thair fat rumps and do something about this travesty.

Course what they'd probably do is hire 10,000 new agents to guard against U.S. citizens making aprehensions. And they'd probably do it lickety split.

Check the byline -- Lara Jakes Jordan. She's married to Jim Jordan, formerly Kerry's campaign manager during the primaries. IOW, she's a shill for the Demoncrat party, and her bias is quite apparent in her "articles."

Absolutely. A few raucous demonstrations at choice border locations would get some action too. Say 5,000 Americans march on a place where the illegals are streaming through. Or disrupt a legal border crossing where semi trucks are trying to pass through, and will lose money with the chaos

But "if anything goes wrong, God forbid, someone does injure an agent, this government is going to be turning both barrels on them and come after them with a vengeance," he said

I think the American Citizens should be turning both barrels on the Government in Wash D.C.

Then fire both barrels when the next Terrorist attack on our soil takes place.

By Spencer's comments I would say he fears the competition, but that is typical of groups at the fringe of the political debate, when in doubt form a circular firing squad. Apparently happens here as well with something called stormfront or whatever (perhaps a Democratic front group?). My two bits is that this Minuteman project is the best of the lot to have surfaced, but if I were them I would be more in the PR business than rounding up illegals.

There is a bounty on U.S. Border Patrol Agents: shots are
fired all the time from the mexican side! The Border is in
chaos, if I were younger, I'd be down there with my CCW
permit.

yep. the minute men have more to fear from the gvt then the illegals breaking the law do. amazingly sad... and unjust.

>>>Gilchrist said the Minutemen are under strict orders to merely identify and follow illegal border crossers and alert federal agents. They should not interact with the immigrants except to offer food, water or medical care. If there's a couple of "bad apples" who turn up in the group, Gilchrist said, they will face prosecution if they step outside the law. <<<

but not to worry about some "bad apples" that might be entering illegally.. it's all about the "crazy gun toting cowboys" being the bad guys..

God bless these Patriots ...

assuming most here don't hate Curtis Sliwa or the "Guardian Angels", how is this group much different? I supect the border LEOs feel the same way about these guys as the NYC LEOs felt about the Angels at first.

From the locked thread:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1347991/posts?page=9#9

"One story I heard when I was down there was that there was an area where the smugglers came through frequently. Each time, they had to cut through a rancher's fence. The rancher would then fix it to keep his cattle in, so the next time through the smugglers had to go to the trouble of cutting it again. They finally got tired of this and installed an automatically-closing gate. All they had to do was nudge it open with their vehicle on the way in, and it would swing shut behind them, keeping the cattle from going through."

Why did not the rancher just shoot them? The property must be posted.

Politicians do not enforce immigration laws because politicians want corporations to have an
unlimited supply of cheap labor.

After immigration authorities arrested illegal immigrants at Walmart, the government
decided to try to change immigration policy so that illegal immigrants can stay in the
United States.

Immigration policy has been influenced by corporations.

Corporations want government to provide amnesty to illegal immigrants because corporations
like Walmart just want to have as many immigrants working for them as possible.

Corporations are not interested in stopping illegal immigration. Corporations are
interested in cheap labor.

Immigration laws are intended to provide national security. An illegal immigrant may
try to harm the United States of America.

Corporations are not interested in national security. Corporations are interested in
cheap labor.

The food industry depends heavily on illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants work on farms,
bakeries, mills, food processing plants, slaughterhouses, meat packing plants, restaurants,
and cafes.

The illegal immigrants in the food industry are not only from Mexico. They come from China,
Cambodia, Thailand, Nigeria, Kenya, South Korea, Japan, Russia, Iran, Haiti, Guatemala,
Costa Rica, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, and many other countries.

Illegal immigration helps corporations. Illegal immigration helps people who hire domestic
workers.

Many domestic workers are illegal immigrants.

Politicians want certain people to have an unlimited supply of gardeners, housekeepers, and

babysitters. This is another reason that politicians do not enforce immigration laws and
want to provide amnesty to illegal immigrants.

What government school did you attend?

Never heard of Citizen's Arrest?

The government and media are, as usual, rapping solid American Citizens for doing what the federal government refuses to do. Protect America.

This government gives two twits about the safety of Americans who live and own property at the border. They would do well to work with Americans who have had it with intentional government refusal to enforce American law.

If harm comes to anyone, it'll be the complete fault of government for letting this issue get to this point. Shame on them for pretending to keep our country safe from foreign criminals!!!

Let them ROT out there..) ...they will face prosecution if they step outside the law. (And offering them aid in their illegal operations; i.e "aiding and abetting" is not "outside the law". Exccccuusussseeee me?)

WTF!!~~??

I need to write a letter to our president, vIcEnTe fOx, and ask him whose side the gubmint is really ON? Why don't they "turn both barrels" on the invaders who are injuring not ony border patrolmen but hundreds of thousands of others? This kind of attitude by "Evil Powers On high" is EXACTLY why we have a 2nd amendment. It isn't to protect us from foreign invaders, but from tyranical gubmints AT HOME."If anything goes wrong"? 1.2 million invaders a year ISN'T something "going wrong"? What are these people smoking??????
