Spare me, I been here since 1998 or so, I seen all this happen and there has been a ratio of 90 to 10 in favor of Sean Hannity from people here, so dont tell me that Hannity has been getting slammed by us in the majority, it has been less than 10% and maybe even 5% of all things ever said about him that were negative until yesterday.
After you insult the very people who supported you and brought you up into the stardom that you have and then just toss us out because you found a new girlfriend, dont blame us when we air the dirty laundry.
And to use the promotion of his own website to add inthe digs he wanted to get, that was a low blow to his supporters, many here who could care less about the insults because we harbored similar opinions but just kept them to ourselves and got on in life.
Sean clearly exploited FreeRepublic.com and his disagreements with the site and certain posters who he refrained from mentioning and doing so ended up slamming us all in his broad brush accusation.
I argue with many people here, but so what? Am I supposed to go and start my own website and insult all the people who educated me more than any professor ever did concerning politics and consrvatism?
Sean got more news form here and will continue to get more news from here whether he admits it or not and that is because he knows that this site has more people posting stories from around the world in real time than any other site.
hannity stuck his foot in his mouth and what he gave today wa a non-apology and the thrashing he is getting is something he brought upon himself and has no right to whine about it.
I would rather be his friend, but his comments tells me he doesnt want us around.
He needs to realize, he just lost thousands of listeners, you just watch.
The enemy awaits us.

We conservatives have infinately more class than the liberals. They'll tolerate any flotsam and jetsam that floats through their party. Look at the protests for the Republican convention and what they'll tolerate. Look at the new DNC chair for the love of God. I think a lot of this 'eating our own' comes from a desire to be the best we can be. It's a bit misguided, but it can be overcome.

Sean Hannity is a class act. He is generous in the extreme, he commits an enormous amount of time and money to support our armed forces (where too many others just give lip service), he was crucial in his support of the president's re-election, and he is selfless in other pursuits completely unknown to most people -- including supporting his fellow conservative talk show hosts in their efforts to battle the mainstream media.
I am amazed at the attacks on his intelligence, which have festered here for months and months and represent the kind of cheap character assassination practiced by the Left.
I know Sean well, and he is incredibly sharp and intelligent. And he has a unique ability to connect with the vast majority of his audience.
There are certain individuals on this website -- some of whom are no doubt liberals pretending to be conservatives, and some of whom are no doubt simply nasty -- who seem to get a perverse satisfaction in attacking conservatives who are on the frontline of our battle -- not just Sean, but Rush and others.
Frankly, I don't blame Sean for leaving. Nobody wants to be abused like this. Especially someone who has been for FreeRepublic early on.
There's a lesson in all of this -- keep the focus on our adversaries, and let's stop chewing up our own. And I speak as a proud Freeper of long-standing."

I agree with that. You see quite often expressions of regret when someone gets insulted by critical thinkers. Most of it is meant to teach and guide thinking.
Especially the newbs, who are often in a transition phase to conservative thinking.
