I know it was Buckhead who discovered it, but I think it was Howlin who started the thread and was part of the discussion.

True, it wasn't an apology in the true sense of the word.

But I disagree that it made it worse.

I didn't hear all of the show, but did hear the part where he was talking to the FR guy 1OldPro.

And I think it made it better, not worse.

Hear, Hear! When you talk, Mark, we should listen.

Not all of us are so in love with ourselves we slam people gratuitously, famous or not. Sean IS a great American!

I will never use the phrase "The Hannityville Horror" again.

I will the next time he writes another book.

"I am amazed at the attacks on his intelligence, which have festered here for months and months and represent the kind of cheap character assassination practiced by the Left. I know Sean well, and he is incredibly sharp and intelligent. And he has a unique ability to connect with the vast majority of his audience. There are certain individuals on this website -- some of whom are no doubt liberals pretending to be conservatives, and some of whom are no doubt simply nasty -- who seem to get a perverse satisfaction in attacking conservatives who are on the frontline of our battle -- not just Sean, but Rush and others. Frankly, I don't blame Sean for leaving. Nobody wants to be abused like this. Especially someone who has been for FreeRepublic early on. There's a lesson in all of this -- keep the focus on our adversaries, and let's stop chewing up our own. And I speak as a proud Freeper of long-standing."

Thanks so much for speaking up. I, too, have been dismayed by the attacks on Sean and other front-line conservatives here. I like Sean a lot and really enjoy his style. People here talk about him emulating Rush, but lately I've noticed that Rush has been having more interviews on his show than he ever had before, probably as a result of seeing how effective it is on Sean's show. I'm glad these guys can learn from each other. And glad they both had you on this week, BTW.

Way to go Jim. The 'Arm Chair Quarterbacking' was starting to get a little oppressive. Thanks for weighing in.

I don't understand this at all. I've not been either a giant fan of Hannity nor an outspoken critic. I have not engaged in any threads about him or seen any until the one with the audio slamming FreeRepublic. I haven't been here that long, so it's not surprising I missed any conflict that, in Sean's own words would have had to have happened a couple years ago, because that's when he (and supposedly everyone he knows)left.

So, unless I missed it, if all the angst was a thing of the past, why debase the site now? He must know that every hack wanna be anchorman in MSMville is trying to undermine our credibility, purely out of fear. I've never thought that Hannity was a bad guy, goofy and a bit short on details, but not malicious.

I didn't understand why he said what he did and I really don't understand why everyone's being so nice to him now. There may be some heated (and maybe overheated) exchanges - I've been in a couple of 'em myself - but they're free exchanges, and the undeniable fact is, the researchers on this site are always at least a day ahead of every MSM out there, and that very much includes the entire cast of Fox News.

Gawain, how funny you asking for proof of what someone else says.

When your Comment #35 was Challenged you did not provide a source.

Got one, or a retraction?

The "memogate" thread was started by Pikamax. Buckheads famous post #47 was in response to Howlin's post #11.

History was made here:
