A new, highly resistant strain of HIV that appears to develop rapidly into AIDS has been diagnosed in a New Yorker who had not previously undergone antiviral drug treatment, says the city health department, which is holding a press conference today.
While drug resistance is increasingly common in people who have been treated for the human immunodeficiency virus, city officials called the case extremely rare. The patient, who now has AIDS, is a male in his mid-40s who reported multiple male sex partners and unprotected anal intercourse, often while using crystal methamphetamine. The patient appears to have developed AIDS within two to three months of HIV infection, and at the most 20 months. People who contract AIDS usually get it more than 10 years after initial infection with HIV.

What on earth is it going to take to convince these people that their lifestyle is killing them? You mean, short of the second coming what will convince them?

Yea know i was thinking that too.. how do we know a virus doesnt morph with certian drugs? Crystal Meth could do wonders for your average virii growth.

Did we not wipe out the smallpox virus? That is a common misconception. Smallpox, like strep, is a bacillus (bacteria), and not a virus. Two completely different unicellular organisms. Bacilli are far more complex than virii, and less prone to rapid mutation. It was this characteristic of bacilli which enabled smallpox to be largely eradicated from the list of deadly diseases which have plagued mankind since time remorial. Virii, on the other hand, have never been sucessfully countered by any method at our current disposal...

Figures. Gays managed to create a massive epidemic by unprotected promiscuous anal intercourse. Then they whined until the nation spent tens of billions of dollars finding effective treatments, and more billions paying for drugs for the infected millions. Then they went back to their merry ways, allowing evolution to do its thing and generate a resistant strain. I guess it's time to cue a further bout of whining.
Time to focus research efforts on another disease, I say. AIDS is primarily a behavioral problem, not a microbiological one.

the event is the vehicle
the "thinking" leading up to the event is the problem
as long as their are men willing to provide a mud cap, he will find a man wanting one
kill the thinking, and there will be less events

"It appears that those who insist on engaging in insane behaviour, will find that the virus will insist on killing them. "
True. However, in the mean time, we the taxpayers get to support them and pay for their medical care.

It has been well kown since the Paris AIDS conference in 1986 (Very superior delegate food and wine, BTW) that there are both rapid and slow progressors.
Despite the logic of it, it has never been shown that this is strain-specific, it is more likely host-specific.
The AIDS literature is full of re-publication of "discoveries" that were original to the period 1982-87. There was a meeting at the New York Academy of Sciences in 1983 whose proceedings contain much of what we know, and don't know, about AIDS biology-and that before HIV was first described.

All I can say is thank God I'm married and that my husband and I are both HIV negative and we only have sex with each other!
Exactly
I have only ever been with my wife. Thats a sure thing if I ever heard one.
Now barring any infidelity two people never have to worry about this disease. I have NEVER known anyone who has multiple partners all the time to be "Gay" or happy in their lives. They are always lonely, sad, and miserable.
If they all want to die of this then lets help speed the process. We need to publish a directory of HIV + people willing to infect others. Let the good times roll.

I'm not a doctor, but I would bet big money that if you avoid
exchanging needles and body fluids with folks who resemble this,
then you will be safe. Regardless of "mutations," I think you'll be safe.

All I can say is thank God I'm married and that my husband and I are both HIV negative and we only have sex with eac other! With all this talk of HIV and other sexually transmittied diseases I don't see why anyone would engage in SEX period with someone that isn't there spouse. Frankly, I think God mad sex for only the married and there is a good reason why! That kind of "bigoted" talk will get you in trouble with the "gay" stapo.
So closed minded...

Close minded? No, I'm not closed minded and I don't care if what i believe gets me into trouble with "gays". I happen to care for anyone and everyone and don't wish harm upon these people. I just wish they would realize that the choice they are making can kill them. And again I believe that sex was made for marriage and only marriage. To many prices to pay for having un married sex!
