I just called Tom Lee's office. She said the legislature has no intention of getting involved again. That their hands were tied.

I told her that their hands may be tied in Terri's law, but that doesn't stop them from repealing the 1999 law that made it legal in the first place to starve and dehydrate the disabled.

FL Legislature Senate President Tom Lee: 1-850-487-5229

I am tired of these politicians hiding behind crooked judges.

scoop1 how about a story on Florida's cowardly legislatures?
Since when are the legislatures not allowed to repeal their own laws?

Just called Nancy Argenziano's office and asked the lady if she would introduce a bill to repeal the bill they passed in 1999 that allowed the starvation and dehydration of the disabled.
Actually, her screener was the nicest. She asked me if I lived in Florida. I told her no, but I was a visitor to Florida and had wanted to retire there.

If they starve Terri to death, it will be Alabama for me.

Capitol Office:
Room 311
Senate Office Building
404 South Monroe Street Tallahassee, FL
32399-1100
(850) 487-5017
SunCom 277-5017

It looks like we have to tell the legislatures what to do or they will say they can't do anything.

it's called politics---all too many times I have seen the cop outs where the executive and legislative branch wont tangle with the court but yet the court legislatives from the bench, engages in a total violation of the separation of powers doctrine and then grins and says---judicial immunity.

That's not what it is, it's judicial tyranny and it must be stopped. Activist judges must be removed. I am just amazed that the voters in Florida returned George Greer to the bench

"I just called Tom Lee's office. She said the legislature has no intention of getting involved again. That their hands were tied."

I got the same response. I said that because they tried something once and it failed it doesn't mean they can't try again. We as human beings, when someone's life is at stake canNOT be saying to ourselves, "Oh, well. I tried." and move on. It's MORALLY wrong.

"FL Legislature Senate President Tom Lee: 1-850-487-5229

The above number is the Tallahassee number and is the better number to call.

I called Speaker of the House Allen Bense's office. The office aid, remembered and read the phone number I had given her several days ago. She also said their hands were tied, that they had done all they could. I made the same comments and told them they can't keep passing the buck. Someone has the authority to do something in this matter, there has been many legal irregularities and outright disregard for the law in this case and THUS, several authorities have the LEGAL RIGHT to step in.

I believe they KNOW they can but don't want to stick their necks out.

I also called AG Crists office. The people at that number will direct you to calling, 1-850-414-3990. When I called I had to wait awhile and then finally was asked to leave a message and my phone number and was informed they would get back to me.

At the Governor's office, I was told he is still reviewing options. I told them the Governor has the legal and moral authority to take Terri into Protective Custody. The person on the line sure didn't sound convinced. I further expounded that it was great that the Governor had stepped in once, but it wasn't enough. He must step in again. They can't stand by while an innocent person is starved to death and do NOTHING.
