You are what you see in others and what others see in you, therefore you have a responsibility to conduct yourself in a manner that is beneficial rather than a hindrance to humankind.

he White House is keenly watching the Iraqi election because it could affect U.S. military action there and sap President Bush's political strength here and abroad if the balloting doesn't lead to stability. The next benchmark, brought to you from the AP.

Doesn't matter... it's a bump in the road. Whites did that to Blacks here in the 60's... they still voted... walked miles if they had to.
Iraqis will cast their votes.

Does anyone know who is the most pro-USA yet viable candidate?
And who are the anti-USA forerunners?

Someone has a tagline that says something like "no one is going to give you your freedom, you have to take it"...and may I add "with God's help". Should have said "No one can give you your freedom, you have to take it".
Our Military and some of our Allies have made freedom possible for the Iraqi people but they still need to reach out and - embrace it.

This thread has me tearing up...this is such a wonderful event to witness. And your post written by the excited Iraqi citizen about did me in! HOW PRECIOUS THE RIGHT TO VOTE IS!!!!
May God Bless our magnificent troops and the troops of our allies, who all risk their lives in order than Iraqi 's might experience freedom and liberty, may God Bless those who have lost their lives, their families and friends, and may God continue to Bless President Bush, his administration, our House and Senate and all Americans. May everyone in America experience fully the joy the Iraqi's about to vote are feeling.
I love our country.

Struck up a conversation in the checkout line yesterday...couple had freshly inked fingers so I asked if they'd voted.
This couple drew a crowd sharing what it mean to them to simply vote, their concerns for family in Iraq and lots of praise for our troops and President Bush.
Keep in mind this was in Royal Oak, Michigan where the peace-nicks have stood on Woodward Avenue for almost 2 years protesting the "Unjust War."
It's a shame the MSM has reduced this historic event to a body count.
Prayers to our troops and the Citizens of Iraq.

"The idea of democracy will lose its reputation in the Arab world entirely," Qandil said, comparing the Iraqi election with 20th-century polls held in Egypt under British occupation. "Democratic charades of this type were going on then," he said. This is from Reuters. Man, they are doing all they can, but it feels to me like a big Abrams tank is just rolling over them, but it is the spirit of the Iraqi people.

Godspeed to the Iraqi people as they embark on this new adventure. Many, many wishes for all the best for them. We're so fortunate in this country and take so much for granted.

Just heard the insurgents slashed the tires on 30 vans meant to carry Iraqis off to vote. Darn them. Sounds like the democrats gave the terrorists a few tips on tire slashing.
