Geez Louise!! I haven't seen stuff like that since the Great Spokane Ice Storm of '96!

Suddenly, there is at least ONE good reason to live in Western Washington.....

Wimp. :-P

Adversity builds character... there's a reason Californians are so mushy-brained.

Before you get mad, I'm just joking with ya! Those of us stuck in below zero temps need to do something to amuse ourselves and picking on Californians fits the bill! :-)

I live 20 miles west of Boston, and woke up this morning to 8 degrees and frozen pipes that burst and took out my garage ceiling.

Cost me $813 just to be able to flush my toilets again -- not counting what it will cost us to repair the damaged ceiling. Not to mention that my sunroom is leaking from the weight of 2-1/2 feet of snow on the roof.

sounds like a well built house ... union labor, no doubt

The house next door has a very badly damaged deck. Are these homes on the water?

69 degrees straight up right now at 351 p.m. Party cloudy, nice pacific breeze. And people think were crazy to live in Cal. Hehe.

Good luck with the weather.

It looks to me like the houses are right on the water. I'm trying to figure out what that is right in front of the houses. Looks like the land ends there. If they are right on the water, I'd assume something like this happens nearly every year. Moisture from the sea plus typical cold New England winters must equal ice on the houses.

Well, the pipes froze because yesterday our electronic garage door developed the amusing little tick of opening itself automatically after it closes, and my wife didn't notice it when she pulled into the garage for the night. So the garage was open to the frigid temperatures all night.

As for the sunroom, don't get me started. Seems our trusty building inspector missed a few problems when he checked out the house before we bought it a few years ago.

And of course, having flunked shop in 8th grade, I am not exactly what you'd call handy. Nothing more pathetic than a Jew with a hammer.

Global warming my butt.?

What haven't you heard....grass is now growing in Anartica:

Grass flourishes in warmer Antarctic

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

....................A further climate alert is to be raised by Professor Lloyd Peck, Convey’s colleague at BAS. He will deliver a stark warning in the Royal Institution’s annual Christmas lectures on Channel 4 this week. Peck said this weekend: “Climate change in Antarctica is a warning of the globally catastrophic changes that will follow unless we act now.”
