Andy Reid needs to put an end to this. Either he's going to play or he's not. Make a decision and then get ready for the game.
Thy never got over that 'Body Bag' metality.
A basically dirty team with ugly crowds.
in the words of comedienne whose name I can't remember, "sorry about your penis."
if you want to put some sort of "number of snaps" condition on the wager, I'm open to discussion. but for the purposes of my statement, I think the definition of "play" is pretty clear cut.
how much he contributes/will contribute is debatable, just as it would be if he never got hurt to begin with. hell, he's a decoy half the time even when healthy (i.e. take up 2 guys so westbrook can get open, etc.)
randy moss takes off 30 plays a game even when ON the field - does that mean he doesn't "play"?
I have always loved the Steelers too. They have a certain mystique and presence on the field. Chuck Noll was a great coach and Cowher is my kind of guy...he just needs a few more strategy points added to his "profile" if you know what I mean.
However, I have lived right down the road from Foxboro most of my life and have lived and died (mostly died) with the Patriots for 30 years. I am enjoying these golden seasons now more than I can say.
Unfortunately for him, "getting ready for the game" = "getting ready to get crushed by Belichick & Co."
This game will be won or lost (like most of them are) in the trenches.
I think Reid's already made a decision, but starting lineup doesn't have to be announced until late next week and there's no reason to tip his hand to Belichick. The injury report is a constant source of gamesmanship in the NFL, and fate has gifted Reid with a really great player to taunt the Pats with, of course he'd probably rather have TO as a definite but such is life.
I'm really glad for you. Really!
I'm of course bummed that we lost again to you, but I'd rather be beat by the Patriots than anyone else. You guys play tough AND intelligent football. It's a real joy to watch you beat people, watching you beat the Colts however was WAY more enjoyable than this past Sunday! Watching you beat the Colts, I swear, was like watching the Steelers dismantle a good team.
I think you have a 90% chance of winning this Super Bowl, and as long as Brady and Belichick are around you'll always be right there. Good luck
I still wish Cowher had gone for the TD on the two yard line. He took the game out of the hands of the players right then, imo. It sucked, but you guys are so precise and at the same time physical, that you more likely would have won the game anyhow. (Tears)
You're probably right. The Patriots know even if T.O. plays he won't be 100%. If he does play he's going to get hammered on every play.
yeah, damn him for having a player REHABBING in the weeks leading up the the superbowl! that sinister fat man must have planned this all along! (try not to fall into the sar-chasm)
andy reid doesn't NEED to do anything until next Wednesday. and even then, all he NEEDS to do is list Owens as questionable - even if only to continue tormenting you personally. if your team has a problem with the uncertainty, there are people on their payroll better equipped to express it than some whiny fan.
while I'm sure the Patriots would prefer to know who's going to be on the field, the Eagles would prefer to have Owens at 100%.
every week, players make game-time decisions about whether or not they're ready to play. trust me - your coach is prepared for either possibility.
But the thing is TO totally changes the Eagles passing game, he's the only contact receiver they have, the Pats will need slightly different game plans with TO vs without. Or maybe Belichick just won't worry about it since there's no way TO will be at 100% and probably won't be able to sustain the contact. To me this is the fun part of the Superbowl, watching the coaches monkey with each other. So how many times in the last 5 days has Belichick said the Eagles are a great team?
I suspect Reid has already made up his mind. Either T.O. won't play at all or he'll just be used for some short passes.
Couldn't agree with you more. I was shocked he settled for three at that point---the Stillers were driving very well, and I was sure they were going into the end zone. What a chicken!!!
The Patriots could be playing Temple and he'd be praising them as a very dangerous opponent. The national media hates Belichick because he doesn't give them great sound bites.
It doesn't matter if T.O. can run, the question is can he cut? If he can't he's not much of a threat.
And can he get off of blocks.
All this talk about T. O. makes me believe he's the only guy on the Eagles football team.
The reason the Patriots will win the Super Bowl is because they don't have to rely on a single "star player".
And the horse you rode in on . . .
Don't get fooled. All this talk about TO is to take the media away from the other players and allow them to focus. In the world of stage magic they call this hiding the real motion behind the large motion.
