55th Inauguration And Day's Events - Live Thread
If anyone is watching the C-Span coverage of the ANSWER people, they are absolutely nuts. They're doing the "No blood for oil, US off Iraqi soil" chant.
Mentally, ,,, I'd say twelve.
Duh.
Let's not let anyone spoil this fabulous day!
I just ironed every linen at the church while watching.
Observation: Brit has a nice panel discussion going. None of the loudmouth leftists. It is a nice change. No Ranting Ellen Ratner, no Susan E., no Eleanor Clift, no Juan Williams.
Just me, baby. Just me.
Right on but Grandma couldn't have conceived of such people.
Agreed. I think this easily the best speech of his life... only his September 14, 2001 speech exceeds it in grace and power. Its a hard Wilsonian type of speech - note the absence of any reference the UN, to "Old Europe" - and none of that nonsense "new tone" that marked Bush's first term. This address is about who George W. Bush is and in what he believes. The President is a zealous evangelist for two things: freedom and individual opportunity, summed up pithly in the phrase "ownership society." This President is not given to careless pronouncements or superfluous additions of words. Bush is direct and to the point. After you've read it, you come to the understanding Bush is a man of vision who is unafraid to achieve a big goal - and he clearly understands what American exceptionalism is all about. There are echoes of Lincoln, Wilson, Roosevelt and Kennedy in the speech. But there is also no mistaking his address is above all, a commitment to an America in the service of timeless conservative goals. This address my friends, is 100% pure, unadulterated conservatism.
No blood for oil, huh? I wonder how those protestors got to the rally? Horsecart?
O'Reilly is perched on the back of the sofa, taking in the festivities on TV, while occasionally gazing out the big picture window. :)
Oh, yeah! Finding Nemo!
Shepard Smith taking over for Brit now, and Shep is outside, directly across from where the President will review the parade. Rich Lowery and ugh. Cici Connelly are with Shepard.
Shep shows up to take over on FoxNews, and he brings Ceci Conally and Rich Lowery.
hehe you aren't...
but he is in for drama queen....
Because I guess since we don't advocate wiping out over 1/6th of the world's population because of their religion, we are appeasers.
I really hope he doesnt come back.
Yes! Tis a great day.
Dubya: Meek, you're right! FreeRepublic.com IS the "Best site on the 'Net!"
That sounds good! I love onion soup!
Provolone, bread and hunks of onion and that sweet onion juice! Yummm!
Oh! I know it's broth, but I like the word juice in this sentence! LOL!!! ;-)))))
Protestors on the deuce saying that they 'held up a congreewoman at the door..' (Pelosi hopefully)
Why can't they let W. and us enjoy the day?
Every time the cameras showed Bimbo Bill & The Hildebeast, my reaction was nausea. But every time they showed JF'nK, my reaction was to shudder at the thought of what it would be like to watch him up there today with his hand in the air taking the oath. SHUDDER!!
That's it ---- turning off fox now -----
I'm reading it and have to agree.
Slam Dunk. He's defined our purpose, and challenged us to exceed the expectations.
