I think he and Mel Martinez (R, FL) are junior senators, and there is probably a chair reserved for a junior senator from each party.
Lamar's OK. He served in congress before and ran for president (remember the flannel shirt?). I think our team is OK except for Chaffee and the increasingly nauseating Hagel and Lugar. The rest are pretty darn good.
"It will be interesting to see what Chaffee says. He'll probably pull a Bob Kerrey and do a 5 minute attack."
Chaffee is a scared-witless, whiny little boy. He might attack, if he had the guts. More likely he will whine, whine, whine about how baaaaaaaad everything in the world is going, and pout that Papa Bush and Mama Rice haven't majically fixed the "booboos".
Gosh, I want to say my guess is Kerry won't be there.
But I hope he is so we can make fun of his haughty and unctous ways and watch Dr. Rice put him in his place.
Hmmmm....fair enough...but I must ponder the reason that Obama appears on all networks all the time, yet I would not recognize Mel Martinez in any situation.......Hmmmmmmmm...... GRIN!
LOL! You probably have hit the nail on the head.
Ditto.
What's wrong with Allen, Coleman, Murkowski, Voinovich, Martinez (who I'm really looking forward to seeing), Alexander and Sununu? I've seen them do well at other times and expect they'll do well today. Lugar can be awful but I've seen him do well, Chaffee can be a putz and Hagel makes me sick anymore, but to be fair, he can also do well when he wants to. Knowing the cameras are rolling I expect him to say something annoying, but I'd say overall our side of the committee is fine.
6am, pacific time? I want to see this! Go Condi!!

LIVE 3:00 (est.) |
Senate Committee Secretary of State Confirmation Hearing Foreign Relations Condoleezza Rice , White House The beginning and end of this live program may be earlier or later than the scheduled times. |
Well, we shall see.
Re: majically = magically
Too early here in TX...
Not a thing. Why did you ask me that?
My comment that we have quite a few RINOs there was correct. Hagel, Chafee, Lugar.
What a sanctimonious POS.
Sen. John F. Kerry, fresh from visiting battle-ravaged Iraq, will join a chorus of skeptical Democrats grilling Secretary of State nominee Condoleezza Rice about the war as contentious Senate confirmation hearings open today.
``These hearings are critical to answer questions about the direction of our foreign policy,'' Kerry spokesman David Wade said yesterday. ``Sen. Kerry and the Foreign Relations Committee will probe the important questions in detail.''
I'm thinking he wants the face time as he's apparently humming his favorite ditty right now - There's always 2008, just need to hush up my mate.
Checking in. When, btw, did we change the meaning of the word "rude" as in "she will be asked some tought [meaning rude] questions and did we take a vote yet on who will grandstand the most?
"...I must ponder the reason that Obama appears on all networks all the time, yet I would not recognize Mel Martinez in any situation.......Hmmmmmmmm...... GRIN!"
Spectacular Point!
Obama is so marginal and not extraordinary, it's a hoot to see the fawning over him as if he's brilliant when in fact it's all due to his skin color. The dems really are vile and pathetic, using race as they do.
Excellent! I can't wait.
I'm ready to mock.
I hope Dean gets the chair. I really do.
Osama Obama Obasama Bama Obamasama Lamba Damba Ding Dong.
