A 10 yard field certainly helps the Falcons efforts.
I have never seen worse special teams in my life.
Not necessarily. Remember this is football not baseball. Defenses can put up points, and strong defenses can hold back very good offenses (remember the Ravens Superbowl season, 5 games with NO offensive TDs, 5 wins). Without defense and special teams the Steelers-Jets game ends in regulation 17-3.
"You think the Patriots had the best offense in the league last year?"
I'm not sure who was #1 in offense this year in the regular season... but the Colts have got to be pretty high up there...
Rams special teams play is horrendous. Atlanta is firing on all cylinders tonight.
They do love simple story lines. One of the things I'll enjoy most about a Patriots win is how ticked off the media will be because of it.
I hate the Ravens... next.
Special teams look great when you get away with blocks in the back!!!
Doesn't matter what you think about them. They prove, irrefutably, that the best offense isn't always what it takes to win a football game. They probably didn't have a better offense than any team they faces that year, their defense and special teams allowed their offense to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

Not year after year after year...
Yeah I love it when the media's sentimental favorite loses. Too bad it's Manning this year, he really is a cool guy, and a great QB. But the Colts have committed themselves to offense and probably will never have the defense necessary to win the championship.
Take a look at the Super Bowl champions over the years and you will find some good and great offensive teams. However you'll also find some teams that had at best an average offense. The one thing they have in common is they all had a very good or great defense.
Well my fav team SF won all their superbowls because of their offense.
Yes year after year, if the coach is good enough to keep their defense able to suprise other offenses. The Pats have two Superbowls in three years, and are in a good position to win a 3rd, because of their solid defense. The Pats offense is solid, but not exciting and probably not better than many of the teams they've beaten (certainly not better than the Colts offense which they keep beating), but they've got the defense and special teams to make up for their deficiencies in offense.
I'm outta here tonite... Good luck tomorrow.
Yep.
They remind me of those Charger teams in the early 80's. They had a great offense but their lack of defense denied them a Super Bowl trip.
