I don't see what the big deal is - especially if the Bush Twins requested he perform. I'm assuming whatever "ball" he would've performed at will consist mostly of young people and the President would only make a brief appearance.

Personally I was hoping for a Brittney/Kid Rock duet and a wardrobe malfunction.

I think they should get some home state band like ZZ Top. I can hear them now, "Jesus just left Chicago, and he's bound for New Orleans".

Soooooo, I guess this means the special inauguration round-the-clock showing of all the South Park episodes on the South Lawn has been cancelled too. Bummer.

Come on guys, don't sweat it. Brittany Spears and Jessica Simpson also support the President! Maybe they can fill in!

I really get sick to death of the Bible thumping and chest banging. I'm pretty damn sure he wouldn't have been performing anything profane. This is flat out ridiculous.

I don't remember Kid Rock make any stupid remarks during the election season (like Springsteen, Dixie Chicks, Babs, REM, etc., etc.). I say let him play. It's only rock and/or roll.

The Republican Party doesn't just belong to the self-appointed "moral majority". It also belongs to twenty-somethings, thirty-somethings, people young at heart who believe in limited government but also don't mind having a good time. All ex-communicating Kid Rock does is reinforce the image of the GOP as a bunch of old squares.

If we're so worried about what Kid Rock may say, maybe we should ask that Vice President Cheney not attend. He may tell someone to go f#(k themselves and we wouldn't want to be offended. Do some of you really think that Kid Rock has lower morals than some "respected" dignitaries who'll be there?

Well here we have the Fuddy Duddy wing of the Republican Party that's shocked, Yes Shocked that an allegedly vile person like Kid Rock be asked to perform at the Inauguration. "GIVE ME A BREAK"
I may not like the guy's music but he supported Bush, went to the convention, has been to Afghanistan & Iraq several times to entertain and support the troops, My God what do you want.
I for one say he ought to be allowed to be there and perform. I am Damn tired of this Double Standard Crap and Hypocrisy!!!

Does anyone here remember when James Watt canceled the Beach Boys concert because Mike Love and the boys attracted "the wrong element?"

I think this decision stinks. I’m 42yr old, a ditto head, freeper, father of two, husband of one:) , and I like Kid Rock and his Music. And I don’t give a damn if some anal-retentive schmuck calls me a Lib as a result of that proclamation! Anyone that knows me (aka…only ones who's opinions matter) knows better. Have at it. If Hank Jr counts him a close friend, he can’t be all that bad. That said, I do prefer the “cleaned up” version of his CD’s.

My dad, who's in his mid-50's likes Kid Rock. Specially the duet with Sheryl Crow, "Pictures"

How many rockers have been brave enuf to publicly support the Republican Party? Not too many, so we shouldn't be so ready to jump all over and condemn the ones who do.

I enjoyed Kid Rock's video with Sheryl Crowe fro approx. three years ago, and his appearance in Gretchen Wilson's "Redneck Woman" video. He has his fan base. The Republican Party should find a place for him somewhere in the Inauguration.

Yes, I know about his lyric attacking Barbara Bush. I didn't say the man was perfect.
