Kid Rock, the vulgar rock-rapper who initially had been lined up to headline the youth concert next week as part of the inauguration festivities for President Bush, will not be apppearing after all. "He's not performing," a spokesman for the Presidential Inauguration Committee confirmed for WND. No further information about the cancellation of Kid Rock was available at press time. Word that the rapper will not join JoJo and Hilary Duff as performers at the Jan. 18 concert, which will be hosted by Bush twins Barbara and Jenna, comes after WorldNetDaily and other outlets publicized the fact that the committee was planning to feature Kid Rock, which caused several pro-family organizations to ask their supporters to protest his appearance. That pretty much sums up the entire reason we ever came up with the idea!!!
'ROAD-KILL Goon Squadron leader reporting for duty?
You're too late. The blood and bile you had looked so forward to has already been hosed down. Gee, too bad.

I don't know why he wasn't invited. Maybe someone has some info that he wouldn't have acted in a fitting way, but I haven't heard any. I wouldn't want the Pres to even give impression of what's not proper, especially in light of the all out dem assault on everything, to undermine, especialy prior to the election. Required? No, of course not. I understand the Twins wanted him. I like some of his music, but that doesn't mean I approve of everything he does or all his lyrics. So, no, not required. But in an age where Hollywood 'elites' like Sean Penn and Barbra and such work hard to influence and force by guilt and strong arm those 'celebrities' who don't go willingly to the 'dark side', he and a few others have stood up for Pres Bush and our country and our troops and refused to be browbeaten or talked down. And intelligently, in a way that can influence others. And maybe in the next election, when another Republican is elected, we will see he has more fully embraced conservative things and dropped the offensive lyrics. See my 893 & 900, too.
And so, when the Bible/Jesus says "He who is WITHOUT SIN cast the first stone" - what's that mean?
Must be a lot of satisfaction for some folks here, what with being so perfect and sin-free.
That's my point, and the point of the list.
Joe - It's pretty rich to hear you speak the word "tolerance". I am supposed to be "tolerant" of the stone casters, but they may be as condescending/judgemental as they wish? (post #812)
Maybe YOU should try "leading by example".
You really love these threads, don't you? You get to pretend you're all BETTER than us reprobates!
Sheesh! You and your boys won't quit until every GOP function is a tent revival, will you? Oh, and we're down to 20% of the vote as well.
Kids can't have fun without a singer who spews pornographic lyrics? What will they do without Kid Rock???? A good time without him is now impossible to be had! The party is ruined. /sarcasm/
I believe Christians should speak up for themselves and that's what I'm doing!
Come on, Gabz. You can do better than that!

How do you know that he would've included that type of content in his show?
So one must be forever JUDGED by his past actions?
I'm not preaching ANYHTING except that some folks need to get off of their high horse.
I defy you to show me a single word I've said in support/opposition to the Kid Rock show.
I defy you to show me ONE SINGLE POST where I've tried to downplay offensive lyrics, etc.
You can't, because you're misrepresenting me/my point.
Care to address what Christ meant by "He who has no sin, cast the first stone?" I see you conveniently skipped right over that.
You certainly have a right to your beliefs, and the freedom to come on FR and shove them down our throats.
But I/we have that same right, as well. So deal with it.
Now I'm ready for another dose of your "Christian love."
"Fuddy-Duddy-Bible-Thumpin' 'Taliban' Christians" (and President Bush): 1
FR Road-Kill Goon-Squaders: 0.
Now if you don't mind, I'm gonna relax to a little NFL 'Autumn Thunder' sound track and unwind a bit.
You said: "My grandfather is a "by The Book" type of Christian. Some would say he's extreme, but he says he supports only those Republicans who would uphold the moral fabric of this nation, instead of ripping it to shreds."
He was not extreme any more than God is. He was a true Christian yearning to live a pure life as best he could - walking in the path of Christ's moral teachings. He was the solid kind of Christian who made this country strong.
This Kid Rock topic has drawn the attention of impish liberals and it is they, not conservatives, who are producing most of the posts on this thread. It's clear as day. They're using this thread to bash moral Christians and insert division by implying that anyone who would object to immoral lyrics in music is wrong. Notice how it is they who are causing division here and very few moral Christians are even posting because of all the filthy talk going on. Most here are liberals who are ignorant enough to think they're fooling moral Christians. ha! ;o)
We see who you are through your foul speech. We see who you are by who you ridicule - moral Christians.
Liberals speaking with filth and ridiculing good, decent people - the usual game you play.
You fail to realize you've lost most of the audience you intended to insult. The very reason Kid Rock isn't going to be performing at the Bush concert is because the same moral Christians who voted Bush into the White House took noble action in letting their objections be heard. True conservatives are greatly encouraged as we see - more and more - that speaking out works! :o)
Speaking out on this particular thread will only glean hostility from liberals masqerading as conservatives (watch how they froth at the mouth after this post, for example) - but every now and then a sprinkle from a true conservative allows some fresh air in. :o) :o) Be encouraged, my fellow and sister Christians! This thread has been taken over by very, very frustrated liberals and it's a sounding board - but it's just hot air for them.
The point has been made that he seems to have cleaned up much of his act. The only lyrics of his I have any knowlege of are the ones that have been posted here.
In fact the majority of what I know about him has come from the the threads about him the past couple of days and this whole flap.
As I am not perfect, I don't see what place I have to judge someone I know nothing about. I honestly find it difficult to believe that anyone invited to perform at a function by the Bush twins would do anything to embarrass them. But that's just me........
FWIW, on the rare occassions that I'm not listening to talk radio, the only music station I listem to is the local country music station.
LOL!!
Silly, did you forget that KR wasn't even invited? You didn't "score" diddly, except in your own mind.
BTW, what's on that soundtrack? It sounds interesting. Instrumentals, like for the specials they run on ESPN?
