Kid Rock, the vulgar rock-rapper who initially had been lined up to headline the youth concert next week as part of the inauguration festivities for President Bush, will not be apppearing after all. "He's not performing," a spokesman for the Presidential Inauguration Committee confirmed for WND. No further information about the cancellation of Kid Rock was available at press time. Word that the rapper will not join JoJo and Hilary Duff as performers at the Jan. 18 concert, which will be hosted by Bush twins Barbara and Jenna, comes after WorldNetDaily and other outlets publicized the fact that the committee was planning to feature Kid Rock, which caused several pro-family organizations to ask their supporters to protest his appearance. My apologies for the misquote.
At least he's ceased with the "pimps and whores" lines.
*shudder*
Thanks for the apology and quick response. I will publicly state that I think it was an unintentional error, and all of us make unintentional errors.
Thank you for your courtesy.
And sorry for my harsh response just now.
I came in rather late in this thread........so I'm not sure I really want to know what you're talking about.
I think you missed the phrase "if the entertainer wishes to be invited..." Any entertainer that wants to be in a certain event knows that they will have to adjust to the guidelines of the event. Or they accept the fact that they won't be invited if their acts don't meet those guidelines. I don't think any one can make entertainers twist themselves around, the entertainers decide how badly they want to be in the show and then decide for themselves. Of course if they're not invited that is the organizers' choice. This is a two way street.
It's not that important, since he's quit. I thought you knew, I forgot you weren't on here then.
Sounds to me like he thinks Abortion is an attemp to kill Christ and his second coming through Abortion.
Hmmmm He could be onto something !
Exactly, and there is a difference between those who know when to keep it clean and those who don't - or won't, aka Roseanne again. I do like Kid Rock, I think he is actually musical - cares more about the music than the being a star part (big diff between him and say, Brittney). That doesn't mean I like all of his songs or approve of the lyrics, but I appreciate his musical ability and enjoy some of the material. It sure beats the Janet Jackson boobfest or Brittney lipsynching so she can writhe on the floor fiasco. And I didn't watch either, caught them on the news. I wonder what if any would be the feedback on Ted Nugent at the Inaugural festivities (if any)?
Why should it offend you? That's exaclty the kind of language Kid Rock uses. Stand by what you are defending. Stand up for the godless profane and reprobate non-culture of pimps and whores and drug addicts.
I suspect a combination of the two, especially the more outrageous posters.
Sad, though, that an event which might have been fun for younger Republicans, and showed our fun side, has been deep six'd by the Wild-men. Nice going...confirm every stereotype the Left pushes about us. Like I said, I wonder whose side they are REALLY on?
Coop, if you could, could you FRmail me a copy of the HTT pinglist you're using? Thanks.
RP2, you've been watching The Chronicles Of Riddick, haven't you? Fun flick, and an excellent metaphor for our own "Necromongers" on here. I think I'll call them such, from now on.
You are quite right, I did miss that. Thanks for pointing it out.
My apologies, Clancy J, for misreading what you wrote.
You'll watch it and be reminded of my post and L-A-U-G-H!
Gotcha!!!!
I wasn't defending the type of music he makes, if you'll recall. I made no mention of my opinion of his music at all, just that he's got a right to make it, and if you don't want to hear it, then move along instead of flagellating yourself with it.
If you don't like it, don't be around it. Turn off the dial, don't buy the CD, and don't allow your children to. That's your right.
Exactly. And that's a big difference. Those who know when something is or isn't appropriate and then act accordingly. I really do think he would have loved being there. He is a supporter of Bush and the troops and could have grown from the experience, as we all can learn and grow from positive experiences, how many freepers, for example, confess they were once dems or libs. But exposed this forum or Rush Limbaugh or an invite from a friend to hear, with open ears, the fundamentals of conservative thought, well, I have benefitted from such. If we are always judged by our faults, well..
