No Kid Rock at Bush concert
Committee backs off plan to feature rapper after pro-family Americans express outrage
Kid Rock, the vulgar rock-rapper who initially had been lined up to headline the youth concert next week as part of the inauguration festivities for President Bush, will not be apppearing after all.
"He's not performing," a spokesman for the Presidential Inauguration Committee confirmed for WND.
No further information about the cancellation of Kid Rock was available at press time.
Word that the rapper will not join JoJo and Hilary Duff as performers at the Jan. 18 concert, which will be hosted by Bush twins Barbara and Jenna, comes after WorldNetDaily and other outlets publicized the fact that the committee was planning to feature Kid Rock, which caused several pro-family organizations to ask their supporters to protest his appearance.

"Answer: The FR 'ROAD-KILL' Goon Squad."
Depending on how you look at it, it sounds like a funny nickname. Makes us sound like some real bad a**es. LOL

Seems to me the responsibility is on the back of the performer. If a performer wishes to be invited to presidential events, he might find it behooves him to show that he puts on entertainment that would be acceptable to all attendees. If he is not considered acceptable for any reason, it is the fault of the entertainer, not the event coordinators. Afterall, their job is to provide super events - not public relations nightmares. It seems to me you have this backwards, a bit. The entertainer is who he is. It's up to the event planners to vet the person in question, and decide if that is the type of entertainment they want to provide. If it isn't, then they simply shouldn't invite them to perform, not ask them to twist themselves around in order to perform. Caveat emptor, and all that.

My characterization a FR 'Road-Kill' Goon Squad is pretty much spot on. Thus you understand where we are coming from, as that type of attitude is exactly what prompted some of us.
Have a good evening.

You are a dishonest fraud. What you quoted is what Al Gore said, yet you attributed the quote to me.
To: Tailgunner Joe
You are required to do absolutely nothing.
That is the beauty of it.
You don't have to see him. You don't have to hear him. You don't have to do anything. If you feel that you should do something you could take a look at what he had done recently and maybe not yell at him or call him names.
It is that simple. No values compromised, no supplications necessary.

Seems a little unfair. There was no problem hosting that other vulgar, inbred, hypoglycemic, lecherous hillbilly (Bill Clinton)alongside Bush a few days back. Has the Kid ever actually raped anyone? [irony alert]
To: exnavychick
Exactly - which is why there is a question about KR.
Skip the controversy - we don't need it. There are plenty of entertainers that know how to act at a Presidential event. Use them. They can use the work.
Again, we live in a free society. We can ask those we think appropriate for the occasion without any flack.
I imagine there are thousands of inappropriate people that are being "not invited" to perform. That is life.

Yup. I would also like to add that if one of the perfomers that does get invited is deemed inappropriate by you, then you don't have to attend, either.
That's what I've been saying all along.

No, the troll ( and I don't know if she was actually a troll or not) thought that the music would lead to more abortions. I think the troll ( if she was a troll) had no idea that KR is antiabortion.
To quote the troll:
"If yelling "fire" in a crowded theatre is wrong, then this should be too because it leads to more teen pregnancies and abortion. "
The troll didn't like the idea of more pregnancies, more abortions. That was the main objection.

Depending on how you look at it, it sounds like a funny nickname. Of course you are correct..........however I looked at it from the position of us having started it in a tongue in cheek manner after having been personally attcked.
Makes us sound like some real bad a**es. LOL
That could be a GOOD thing. LOL!!!

How do you know his heart? The Lord tells us to associate with other Christians. I would want to speak to him directly or hear him speak on the topic of his beliefs, before deciding as to where his heart lies. If he has had a turn toward God and is making a change in his life reflecting that change, why would we try to stop his performance based on his past? Would his repenting of his past life, be less than our own? Thus, deciding his life of sin was worse or different from our own?
