No Kid Rock at Bush concert
Committee backs off plan to feature rapper after pro-family Americans express outrage

Kid Rock, the vulgar rock-rapper who initially had been lined up to headline the youth concert next week as part of the inauguration festivities for President Bush, will not be apppearing after all.

"He's not performing," a spokesman for the Presidential Inauguration Committee confirmed for WND.

No further information about the cancellation of Kid Rock was available at press time.

Word that the rapper will not join JoJo and Hilary Duff as performers at the Jan. 18 concert, which will be hosted by Bush twins Barbara and Jenna, comes after WorldNetDaily and other outlets publicized the fact that the committee was planning to feature Kid Rock, which caused several pro-family organizations to ask their supporters to protest his appearance.

NO!

We certainly must remove Duff from the list, she is setting a poor example to young girls.

Where has modesty gone in the GOP?

I guess we need The Coopster to come with his "Holier-Than-Thou" ping list, huh?

"How far do you think we will get without the rest of the party?"

I find the ignorance on this thread amazing.

NOBODY is tossing Kid Rock and the like OUT OF the GOP. OR has anyone, ANYONE been able to cite that viewpoint as a fact of the matter?

Please discern between the appropriate entertainer for so hallowed event as a Presidential Inaugural, vs. a Stag Party.

With that logic, that old drunk George W Bush shouldn't be wiping he dirty feet on the White House carpet..

Wow -- Kid Rock repented of his sin, trusted in Jesus as Lord and Savior, and cleaned up his act?

Do you have a link to that story?

(Remember -- you brought up "logic.")

Dan

I was thinking just the opposite! Hillary and Michelle Branch (actually, Michelle Branch BEFORE she was in Maxin) set wonderful role models IMO...

Everyone else her age is doing the rap/dance/skimpy routine. Hillary's very wholesome, sort of a continuation from Britney Spear's first album, BEFORE she became lewd and disgusting... Kudos to Hillary.

I'd like to have my dude and dudette FRiends from the RPR list chime in here. Either pro- or anti-KR. All opinions welcome.

REPUBLICAN PARTY REPTILE ping! What is the Republican Party Reptile? It is a creature of the eighties. It's neoconservatism with its pants down around its ankles, the Rehnquist Supreme Court on drugs, a disco Hobbes living without shame or federally mandated safety regulations. The Republican Party Reptile supports a strong defense policy, but sees no reason to conduct it while sober. The RPR believes in minimum government interference in private affairs; unless the government brings over extra girls and some ice. In short, the RPR is the new label that our political spectrum has been crying out for; the conservative with a sense of humor and a healthy dose of depravity.

I think they should get some home state band like ZZ Top. I can hear them now, "Jesus just left Chicago, and he's bound for New Orleans".

Soooooo, I guess this means the special inauguration round-the-clock showing of all the South Park episodes on the South Lawn has been cancelled too. Bummer.

P.S. -- "Social conservatives" IF NOT the "majority of the GOP," ARE indeed the backbone.

This Party DIES without us -- like it or not.

Perhaps. But it dies without the socially non-conservative, free market wing, as well.

The problem is there is only one party that believes in America's greatness and is willing to do what it takes to defend it. That's the GOP. Until either the Democrats excise their hate-America wing or some socially less-conservative 3rd party can rise to prominence, the social conservatives and social moderates/libertarians who believe in America have to stay together.

I don't watch porn, and as a matter of fact I am offended that you are pushing your pornographic language upon me.

What consulting adults do in the privacy of their own homes is their own business.

I would much rather hang out with a person like Kid Rock- who supports our troops- than with a person who hides behind their Bible to condom others- including those very people who put their lives on the line for my very freedom.

Doesn't that cover almost everybody?!

Are you protesting his participation because of what he will do or what he has done?

If he is to behave, then how is Duff anymore appropriate?

If you are protesting because of he "life" of music, then I suggest that you are tossing him out. Or worse, hiding him in the closet.

I'd make a comment about Hillary Duff and wardrobe malfunctions, but I don't think she's 18 quite yet.
