Kid Rock, the vulgar rock-rapper who initially had been lined up to headline the youth concert next week as part of the inauguration festivities for President Bush, will not be apppearing after all. "He's not performing," a spokesman for the Presidential Inauguration Committee confirmed for WND. No further information about the cancellation of Kid Rock was available at press time. Word that the rapper will not join JoJo and Hilary Duff as performers at the Jan. 18 concert, which will be hosted by Bush twins Barbara and Jenna, comes after WorldNetDaily and other outlets publicized the fact that the committee was planning to feature Kid Rock, which caused several pro-family organizations to ask their supporters to protest his appearance. Since when does the definition of KIDS=innocent children?
How about now?
What is tells us is that a person who comes across as "holier than thou" person is a busy body, prudish fool that everyone avoids when they see them coming. It impresses no one. In fact, no one outside of their small circle feels comfortable around them.
We don't really consider such people "holier" than anyone else, its just that they think they are.
I didn't mean this as an insult toward you - I was just making sure that you were aware that there is no way to spin "holier than thou" to a positive.
This is what I got:
The page you are looking for has been removed,
had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
I don't think it's your fault, lol!
Well, you've been here several years, so I guess that means you've been pretty successful at being nice more often than not. :)
Okay, this is the third time I am trying to get this across to you, which you seem to be ignoring:
There is no, zip, zero, nada chance that Kid Rock would have performed his raunchier material at the Inaugural event. None. He has demonstrated in the past (Super Bowl) that he can appear and refrain from such lyrics. He supports the President and worked for his election; he understands full well that the racier stuff would be unwelcome.
You're arguing against something which does not exist as a possibility. Since I've explained this to you three times now, may I expect you to cease posting the strawman about "dirty words" above?
I know, I shouldn't hold my breath...
"Why do you feel you have the right to further your smut to our young?"
"OUR" young? Are you saying that "It takes a village" to raise a child.
No one has a right to further what you consider smut to YOUR young or anyone else's young, provided the "young" are under the age of 18. As a parent, it is YOUR responsibility that YOUR young do not see or hear things you do not want them to hear - just as it is the responsibility of parents everywhere to monitor what their children see or hear. There is no "OUR" young.
If you don't want your children listening to or watching certain performers, then don't let them - but please don't consider yourself as stopping or speaking out against "push"ers of smut on "OUR" young. Of course, once YOUR (or anyone else's) young hit the age of 18, they can listen to any performer they like. It's great living in a free country, ain't it?
I have NO idea what you're talking about, but that's okay.I seem to be in veru good company. LOL
It doesn't. But far too many people here (who are supposed to be conservatives and thus immune to this nonsense) are using the "It's fer th' CHILLLLRRRRUUUUNNNNNN!" card, as bent and dogeared as it is.
We're not talking about kindergartners, here. These are young adults, and a sanitized Kid Rock show is no big deal.
BWAHAHAHA!!!
It's called killing them with kindness.............LOL!!!
Actually I enjoy my posting privileges, and would be bereft if I got in trouble and couldn't post.
"I was just making sure that you were aware that there is now way to spin "holier than thou" to a positive."
And why does the "holier than thou" crowd think they can pull off a spin? Well, to quote the much maligned Kid Rock, "Only God Knows Why."
LOL! I know what you mean. I love my husband and kids, but none of them are too terribly interested in politics, lol.
My mom claimes to be a Democrat (lol) so I don't talk politics with her, just in case I strike a nerve. With my family and friends, I don't talk politics with anyone I don't agree with...it's safer that way. :)
So, what does that leave? FR! Yeah, baby! LOL
claimes=claims! Sorry!
Raising hand! LOL
Politics seems to have always been a major part of my life..........I was a political reporter at 22 and then became a lobbyist. Lucky for me, my husband is also interested, though not quite as "obsessed" as I am.
It's been a bit of an adjustment since we moved last year.....not too many folks I have gotten to know are very political, but at least those that are, are on the same side as we are.
Yeah, that is good. I think there is a pretty big difference between a typo and a person rattling off judgements about a person that they have never met.
Well enjoy running.
I have another suggestion - SPEAK UP!
Who says the moral majority has to be a quiet majority?
