Actor Mel Gibson held a secret meeting with one of the famous visionaries of Fatima, Sister Lucia of Portugal. Sister Lucia, now 98 years of age, is a cloistered nun who as a child saw and spoke with the Virgin Mary in Fatima, Portugal in 1917.
Her visions and those of her two childhood friends, both since passed away, were both prophetic and apocalyptic. The Catholic Church accepted the visions as authentic.
Actually, there is a connection among Islam, Christianity and Judaism all. We all can trace our religious lineage to Abraham.
MOUNT OF TRANSFIGURATION
We see this mountain recorded in the 17th Chapter of St. Matthew's Gospel, and it is called the Mount of Transfiguration. On this mountain we have a wonderfully interesting piece of history. The disciples had been with Jesus almost three years and had only seen Him as a man. But on the mount they saw Him in His glorified body. We read that His face did shine as the sun and His raiment was as white as the light. Then we read, "And behold there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him;" and we turn back and notice that it had been 1451 years since Moses had his funeral on the mountain top across the River Jordan from the promised land. After the death of Moses we hear nothing more of him for 1451 years, but to our surprise here he is on the Mount of Transfiguration. We look at the other fellow who is on the mount and behold it is Elijah, and he
had been gone 896 years.
So we have before us the Law-giver and the prophet and the Savior. The Savior had said that he would not pass away until all the Law and the Prophets were fulfilled, and now here on this mountain we have in the presence of three witnesses, Peter, James and John, the Christ of the Old and New Testaments. Now here stands before us the man that gave the Law to the world, and we have before us the greatest Prophet that ever lived. No other man ever did such things as Elijah. The prayer that brought the three years' famine and the prayer that brought the rain, and the prayer that brought the fire from heaven, and the slaying of eight hundred and fifty false prophets.
When we read that Peter wanted to build three houses and live on the mountain top we are not surprised, for today if we were to get into the presence of the Son of God, and if Moses and Elias were to appear on the scene, we would want to stay there and ask questions about our loved
ones.
"AND after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias."
>>Well then then they ain't secrets if they are revealed and why a secret anyway<<
The Blessed Mother didn't want the children to tell the secular authorities in Fatima the messages, so she told them to keep it secret. The secular goverment in Portugal was anti-Christian at the time, and the children were threatened with death by the authorities unless they revealed what the Madonna told them. Of course, they were bluffing, but the children didn't know this and were terrified. But they kept their mouth shut. The children did tell what they knew to Church authorities.
The children had no idea what the Blessed Mother was telling them. When she said that "Russia would spread her errors throughout the world", they thought she was talking about a woman named Russia! They had no clue that there was a country called Russia. Of course, later that year(1917), the Russian Revolution occured, and everyone knew what the Lady of Fatima was referring to.

I don't know anything about the source - I found it on-line but I thought it was a very nice description of what happened on the Mountain that day.
I like that. Thanks for the post.
Correct me if I'm wrong. But I don't remember Moses or Elijah reappearing. Elijah ascended into heaven taken by a chariot in a tornado. Moses died on Mount Nebo before entering Canaan.<<
The Transfiguration, when Moses and Elijah appeared to Jesus, talking to Him about His approaching death.
Thats wild....I live in Louisville Ky.
Veronica Lake? Clara Bow?
Sorry but I do NOT see the Virgin Mary., with that hair and those lips, I think of actresses of the silent screen era.
And it could be titled: The Rise of the Anti-Christ.
Maybe I'm reading that wrong, but I always thought "transfigured" meant elevated. I assumed that the apostles were able to see Jesus in Heaven with Moses and Elias . . . not that Moses and Elias came down to earth.
If I remember right they called that The Apostles' Creed when I took my Catechism classes back in the 60's
Just as most every parent believes their child is great. However, they do know what talents to utilize with which child.
Look up the Transfiguration.
St. Matthew 17:2-5
Transfigure - [v] change completely the nature or appearance of; "In Kafka's story, a person metamorphoses into a bug"; "The treatment and diet transfigured her into a beautiful young woman"; "Jesus was transfigured after his resurrection"
Check out my answer on post number 114.
We have that as well...
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell. [See Calvin]
The third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy *catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Amen.
