A 10-year-old Mexican girl was found stashed behind the dashboard of a car in the latest innovative attempt to smuggle illegal aliens across the border.
U.S. agents found the child tightly wrapped up behind the dashboard and under part of the front seat of a Toyota Camry during an intensive investigation of the vehicle at the San Ysidro border station, the world's busiest border crossing connecting San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico.
According to KGTV in San Diego, "The vehicle and its two adult passengers were escorted into the secondary inspection station at about 5:30 a.m. on Dec. 31, 2004, after an officer processing the vehicle noticed what appeared to be a person's leg under the front passenger seat."
Officers are said to have worked for 30 minutes to unwedge the girl from the car. She is reportedly in good condition and will be used as a material witness in the case.
The adults, a 47-year-old woman from Chula Vista, Calif., and a 19-year-old man who resides in Tijuana, are both U.S. citizens and have been taken into custody on charges of attempted smuggling.
Customs officials are concerned about the rising trend of minors entering the U.S. illegally. The number of infants and youngsters caught trying to enter California from Mexico jumped to 6,748 in 2004, up close to 17 percent from 2003.
In November, another creative smuggling attempt at San Ysidro involved a 5-year-old Mexican girl being stashed inside a piñata, which, ironically, was in the shape of a smiling girl with outstretched arms.
"We plan to continue to work closely with Mexican officials, community organizations and the media to bring attention to this disturbing trend in an effort to educate undocumented families not to entrust their youngsters to smugglers," Adele Fasano, director of field operations for U.S. Customs and Border Protection in San Diego, told the station.

One more big terrorist hit and the border will be sealed because Americans will rise up if it is not taken care of.
Illegals will then be IMO removed forcibly on a grand scale.
Legal ones, ones who follow the old rules are always welcome though.
Of course, these infants and 10 year olds are coming here to do the work Americans won't...uh huh. Actually, they'll just be more burdens on our social networks.

Las Vegas has to build 12 of them thanks to a 40% increase in Las Vegas since Jorge has been in office. That 40% stat is now 6 months old. If traffic is any indication, it's well over 50% now.

last few times I went back/forth to mexico, they seemed to be most worried about people actually having presciptions for the drugs they brought back.
even mexican nationals were walking back into the US.
I think these clowns got busted because they were trying to be sneaky. "contempt of cop" as they say.

Even in the immediate wake of September 11, there was no public outcry to seal the borders, nor was there any effort by the government to do so. Yeah, they renamed INS to ICE (probably at a cost of tens of millions of dollars), and they made noises about "Homeland Security." But what has our government really done about illegal immigration since the September 11 terrorist attacks?
We've seen a number of states attempt to grant driver's licenses to illegals (including Jeb Bush's state). We've seen gross political pandering to Vicente Fox, La Raza, and other illegal alien pressure groups. We've seen the installation of water stations along the trails from Mexico into America so the poor aliens won't get thirsty during their illegal migration. We've seen cities and local governments offer illegals "safe haven" (where the local governments pledge NOT to cooperate with federal immigration laws). We've seen banks and other businesses accepting "Matricula Consular" cards as legitimate forms of ID. We've seen FHA/HUD-approved and federally-insured (by our tax dollars) home mortgage loans to illegals. We've seen Border Patrol agents officially reprimanded (and some criminally prosecuted) for doing their jobs and arresting illegals. We've seen laws to restrict benefits to illegals, passed by millions of voters, single-handedly overturned by activist judges with no repercussions.
If this is America's response after the September 11 terrorist attacks, I cringe to think what will happen after the next attack. Perhaps the President and Congress will declare that all illegals be conferred honorary citizenship and receive retro-active Social Security benefits. Heck, they might even set-up a taxpayer-funded limousine service to bring more illegals across the border in comfort!
The sad truth is that the politicians -- on both sides of the aisle -- have more to gain from pandering to the illegals (and their special interests groups) than they do from abiding by our nation's immigration laws and their Constitutional mandate to protect our borders. They know that, as long as both parties are equally soft on immigration, they have nothing to fear from the voters. They also know that most Americans are too stupid and too uninformed (thanks to the complicit Liberal media and Liberal education system) to understand the true threat of illegal immigration to our country. Most Americans buy into the crap about illegals just looking for a better life and taking the jobs Americans don't want. And frankly, most Americans are too concerned with the "pebbles in their shoes" to notice the "boulder" of illegal immigration that's about to fall on their heads.
Call me cynical, but even if the next terrorist attack is a nuke smuggled in across from Mexico, I'll wager that America will not seal the borders. For one thing, the mainstream press will bury the information about how the nuke got here. Than, they'll portray any attempt to close the borders as racist. And even if the government actually tries to do something (which I doubt), groups like the ACLU will sue to stop it. And they now have enough activist judges in place that they can stop anything.
If another 9/11-scale attack is perpetrated on US soil, by terrorists who entered the country through open borders, George W. Bush should be impeached.
Just wondering; is anybody going to ask the smugglers where the INS can find the girl's parents? Probably both are in the U.S. already.

LOL!! Mexican officials?? The same ones that are printing the "how to get in the US and get the goods" booklets?
Child abuse and endangerment. All for greed, they see welfare checks and more food stamps and of course free everything because if she stays in Mexico they have to pay something.
Maybe that's one of the comic book themes --- stuff Little Lulu into the dashboard.
