International ocean monitors predicted that a tsunami would likely follow the deadly earthquake that hit the Indian Ocean on Sunday. But they didn’t know who to inform.

"We put out a bulletin within 20 minutes, technically as fast as we could do it," said Jeff LaDouce, an official in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

LaDouce noted that they e-mailed Indonesian officials, but said that he wasn’t aware what happened after they sent the e-mails.

The U.S. knew about the tsunami...

Baghdad Bob...is that you?

This thing about lying is not just about about blaming the U.S. or Israel.

Lying is a language...Al Jazeera and devout followers of Islam speak the language of "lies" fluently.

Bush has sensitive seismographic equipment set up in a barn at Crawford, Texas. It is manned by Halliburton employees, who knew back in August that a tsunami would hit. Of course, because there was no profit in it for him or his Enron buddies, no warning was given. And the Republican controlled news media will never tell this story...

Al Jazeera is getting uppity again? Did someone miss a memo? Weren't they supposed to be hit by an errant cruise missile or something (a French one, yeah, that's the ticket).

Just minutes after the earthquake in the Indian Ocean on Sunday morning, Thailand's foremost meteorological experts were sitting together in a crisis meeting. But they decided not to warn about the tsunami "out of courtesy to the tourist industry", writes the Thailand daily newspaper The Nation. The experts got the news around 8:00 am on Sunday morning local time. An hour later, the first massive wave struck. But the experts started to discuss the economic impacts when they were discussing if a tsunami warning should be made. The main argument against such a warning was that there have not been...

I think that it was caused by Halliburton and all the big oil companies sucking all that oil out of the ground, which caused a hole that was filled in by the earthquake.

Stuff like this is why I have very little sympathy for helping foreigners. They hate our guts anyway, so why help them?

can anyone tell me what the Middle East or the Muslim world has created, invented or somehow made human kind better in the modern world.....I know that some mathematics and things came to pass hundreds of years ago but what have they done for humanity after, let's say, the birth of Christ......all they can do is complain with not a gosh darn thing to show for it.....ya know......even if they developed a nuclear weapon they'd have to drop it off the back of an ox cart............
