The WIFE & I will celabrate next week when we get some money. all of our extra money went for the kids. We pay cash for the holidays and do NOT have credit cards to run up. It makes life a little tough, but we make do.

If I didn't get any gifts, I would still be thankful for the simple pleasures in life: a smile, a hug, a kiss, FRiends, family, and life itself, and the assurance that Jesus died so that I may live eternally beyond the Earthly existence.

They smell nice and give your home a cozy glow.

We love our 'pine' candles.  Forget the metrosexual vanilla bean amaretto hazelnut bamboo banana nut variety.  When we can't be at our cottage in Lewiston, MI in the middle of winter, well, the pine candles buy a few weeks...

KRUGER: George, we have a problem. There's a memo, here, from accounting telling me there's no such thing as the Human Fund.

GEORGE: Well, there could be.

KRUGER: But there isn't.

GEORGE: Well, I - I could, Uh, I could give the money back. Here. (Holds it out)

KRUGER: George, I don't get it. If there's no Human Fund, those donation cards were fake. You better have a damn good reason why you gave me a fake Christmas gift.

GEORGE: Well, sir, I - I gave out the fake card, because, um, I don't really celebrate Christmas. I, um, I celebrate Festivus.

KRUGER: Vemonous?

GEORGE: Festivus, Sir. And, uh, I was afraid that I would be persecuted for my beliefs. They drove my family out of Bayside, Sir!

KRUGER: Are you making all this up, too?

GEORGE: Oh, no, Sir. Festivus is all too real. And.. I could prove it - if I had to.

KRUGER: Yeah, you probably should.

So, I dont think it counts.

Those are horrible candles. They burn about as much as a votive and then they burn out and the wicks are buried under wax and you can never light them again and they are still big and you hate to throw them away.

I got a pair of slippers from my grandchildren and a sweater from my son and DIL. My husband and I don't give gifts most of the time but we specify.

I always remember my oldest son's first Christmas as a husband. They had had a child in October and decided to spend all their money on her and not exchange gifts. I told him that he should buy his wife a gift anyway because I was sure she'd buy him one and then she'd be hurt that he didn't get her anything. He assured me that his wife had really meant it. Well, being a woman AND not wanting him living with me again, I bought some White Diamonds and wrapped it, left off the tag and didn't say anything to him.

Lo and behold, his wife had a gift for him and you could just see the panic in his eyes and with that "see, I told you so, you know Mom knows everything, look, I managed to point out her gift under the tree and he handed it to her. She was, of course, thrilled at his thoughtfulness and good taste and 11 yrs later she still thinks he bought it. He gives her White Diamonds every year now.

I got an IPod, a DVD player/recorder, an ACOG scope for my accurized Mini 14, a LCD 42" TV, a $250 gift card to PF Chang. And other stuff. But like the post said, basically, aside from what I just mentioned, I got nothin'.

Yes, exactly. come time to open gifts, I don't care what, if anything I get, I am excited for everyone to see what I get them. I used to think it came from being a Mom, hmmmmmm now I find out it is from being a conservative.
