No financial limit on the gift you have to buy. Skys the limit.
Sounds good to me, long as there isn't a minimum. or the minimum isn't too high LOL Some of aren't rich by any means, but oh how we love the joy of sharing.
We don't give each other gifts any longer because we have all we need, and my wife is so full of happy surprises all year long anyway, and I try to surprise her too.
Others don't have what they need. We give gifts to the kids, but we were heavy into The Angel Tree project this year. I don't know how many kids we got gifts for, but it was a bunch, and they got nice stuff (bikes, scooters, etc.).
This is our Christmas joy, every year for the past couple of years, and will be as long as we can afford it.
Kudos to you for helping parents be Santa Claus to their kids. They will bless you for it, and God will bless you for it.
Not bad applause there, if you ask me.
Agreed. No minimums. No maximums.
Right on! We have the Chid and family services here, we call them every year, and get a few names each, first name only of course, and age and gender. Then drop them off wrapped. We love it, since most of these kids wouldn't have anything on Christmas otherwise. Usually there is a request or two from each child. It's heart warming when you see that they haven't asked for much.
oops child=chid (spell check is my friend)
The neatest gadget - an electronic stud finder with a laser straight edge. I spent all afternoon at my in-laws straightening and re-hanging pictures for them. Might I have been just a tad bit obnoxious?
Yankee CANDLES and bath and body works suck big time.
Sounds like you had another lovely day in our very own hoodlet!
Cheers to ya if none other are available. Real!
Aside from the forgiveness of sins, W for President, Kerry and
Al Gore being history, along with Marion Berry, good health for all my family and Terri Schiavo still alive, do I care that I received not one perishable gift? not!
Level headed and up late too.....LOL.........Merry Christmas SLB !!
I'm not sure what you're saying to me, but it seems to be VERY mean-spirited. You call me pious and judgemental? How so?
I hope you can work through whatever is your problem, but I've found that people with your kind of viciousness and insecurity never change. I truly feel sorry for you.
I got lots of lovely gifts, but the most special, other than all the kids being home for Christmas, was from my unemployed son...he personalized a plastic tackle box with my name and pinstriping! You could tell he put a lot of effort into it to make it a special gift!
I really like this FReeper secret pal thing! I love giving presents...or even doing things for people in their honor...i.e. "This year, I sponsored an Angel Tree kid for you, and this is the list of the stuff the kid got!"
There is simply nothing better we can do at Christmas than help these little dreamers have happy hearts on Christmas morning. For a trusting child to get his hopes up, then have them dashed by getting nothing, is just the worst possible thing that could happen to him.
We have to be Santa Claus to that little child. By doing so, we help him build a positive view of the world, and of people.
LOL - that's pretty funny. I could see myself doing it.
Thanks :-)
Exactly, every child deserve a little magic. It reinforces for them, Jesus truely is watching over them, and knows there hearts.
Here, here! I always graciously accept them, then save these to give to other people who adore this junk. It's overpriced, it's not that great quality wise, and I would also add anything from stupid Pampered Chef, Longaberger, or Home Interiors to this list. Money spent on these things could be used for much better purposes...like a toy for a kid or something.
With a husband, four sons (and one daughter) I have learned that really florally, girlie type products ARE NEVER USED BY ANYONE ELSE BUT ME (and our daughter)....So, when I get in the shower, I am guaranteed personal hygiene products...not necessarily a given with teens in the house.
Enjoy those gifts!!!
