This thread is for those who got diddly, nada, zilch, zip, zero Christmas Presents this year (or any other year). Come and commiserate. You're among friends here.
And to those of you who offer the beautiful homily, "It's better to give than receive", please take the time to have a nice tall glass of shaddup.
Amen to that.
Did you see "Ray" ... the movie? Don't know who your favorite blue guy might be but this movie is far from shabby.
Ok I admit , I did get a little Christmas tree ornament from my 9 year old granddaughter. Value = priceless. I did send $400 to a family in Chicago so they could buy their 3 little ones some christmas. They had $2.50 to buy Christmas for them. They were so overjoyed that I cried openly talking to them on the phone. This is aboslutely the best Christmas I ever had in my life. It's about giving and celebration of what Christmas is about and giving thanks to God. Recieving gifts??? I never had any as good as the ones I got this year. They cling to the heart.
No. Buying yourself something doesnt count. If that were to count, then so would buying myself groceries in the middle of April.
Hey, I have one of those too. Had it for years. Works great!
Well, looks like I also got a year's supply of saccharine...
Oh No, did they find out yet? I sure hope everything is ok!
So they got me a DVD rewinder instead. hmmm how do you work this thing?
I had my first ride a few months ago after a low speed collision with a car while crossing the street. The ride through the streets of DC caused way more discomfort than the collision with the car.
I second that - I feel terrible that friends or family didn't remember some of you.
I make a bazillion cookies every year and I take them to people and groups that I think most people forget. We take large pans to retirement communities and to the firemen and policemen, as well.
I consider you all a gift for my heart. Thank you.
And I gave GREAT GIFTS!!!! I had to buy scalped tickets to give my husband and stepson tickets the the Chargers/Kansas City game next week. I'm too embarrassed to say how much I paid!!!! But it was worth it to see my stepson's face!!! I gave my best friend a bottle Dom Perignon. They were flabbergasted!!!! (They gave us Wisconsin Bratwurst and Sausage) And my other best friend I gave a vase of mine she always remarks about when she comes into my home. But I got a great gift from her! We are all going racecar driving on one of those tracks here in town. I'm gonna LOVE that!!!! All in all a great Christmas, candles and all.
Those who possess no humor tend to be pious and judgemental.
I hope you can work through that, dear.
Do your parents adopt? :)
It could be from the fact that I have been taking Ultram since a back surgery. Did a search on ultram and seizure and whoa! Happened right in front of my 3 year old daughter this morning. Luckily I was home in a few hours.
Shoot! I thought I hadn't struck out.
At least no one sent me any candles, big or small...Does NOT getting a crummy gift count as a gift?
Status for cardholder
Think on the bright side ... it's "re-giftable." :D
I got a rock.
