LIBERAL AT MY DINNER TABLE (vanty)
12252004 | me

Posted on 12/25/2004 6:54:14 PM PST by cyborg

How do I deal with a real Hillary Clinton sycophant in my house? I'm hiding in my bathroom and am so ashamed. I've avoiding talking so as not to start a fight.

I'm usually anti-social anyway and stay in the kitchen cooking. I didn't get bothered too much because my sister knows how heated I get in a debate.

I looked at your profile page.
It looks like you can take care of whatever.

By the way, I've had relatives like that.
My standard response was, "Well, that sure is interesting."

I said that each and every time until the liberal relative got the point.

Once in awhile the liberal would catch on, and comment on my standard response and then I would just smile and say, "Whatever's right." That was my standard response no. 2.

If a liberal gets belligerent, just smile and pass the coffee, tea, mustard, whatever.

Usually before family dinners, what you want to do is put a bunch of Christian and conservative bumper stickers on your car and then park in a prominent place when going to dinner at a liberal relative's house.

That's my 1.4 cents.

"I did see the pro-choice buttons on her daughter's bag."

hmmm - you could say to the mother:

"So how long was it, after your daughter was born, that you became Pro-Choice?"

Tell this person three FACTS about the current state of the Democratic Party.

1) Democrats HATE Bush more than they hate Osama bin Laden.
2) Democrats HATE Republcans more than they hate members of Al-Queda.
3) Democrats are more angry in what happened during the 2000 and 2004 elections than they were about 9/11.

Hide soap and toilet paper. Leave nra magazines, pro-life literature and loose ammo laying around.
My problem is that we have no diversity at our Christmas dinner. My mother, father, 2 sisters, brother-in-law, niece and nephew all voted for G.W. Support the troops, love America and shoot. We briefly validate each other's beliefs and then move on to other stuff.
My niece and nephew both go to Catholic colleges. My niece told how her anthropology prof. shot the theory of human evolution to pieces. It was great. Sometimes I wish we had a lib to play with.

You?? "anti-social"?? Hard to believe ;-)

That's only normal though when the people in the vicinity are nitwits, isn't it?

For some of us, interaction with others is relative to the respect we have for them. In your case, it was NONE -- and rightfully so.

Get out there and gloat. It's been less than 2 months since W won, the wounds are still fresh. Go rub salt in them. A chance like this doesn't come along often enough

I'm sorry I missed this one. Just smile a lot and every now and then hold up four fingers.

Also, tell her the most sexist men you are grateful for the Clintons to making sexual harrassment acceptible again.

Well yes I'm actually a bit anti-social except when I'm around my own conservative kind *lol* It's a habit I developed when I was in college.

I have a cousin like that.
Everytime he starts up with his babble...

I say,
"Hey, those Yankees are gonna be something this year, eh!"
or something similar...

And everyone at the table lets out their collective breath and we start a different subject.

Samples could include...
"what do you think of the NHL Strike?"
"who made the potatoes"
"More pie?"
