First, real business. Central Ohio was hit by an early winter ice storm. We just got power back on after 36 hours and temps in the single digits. Radio is saying there are still 175,000 customers still without power who will likely not see power before Sunday evening.
What that means is that many will have to drastically alter Christmas plans.
Many churches are still without power and have cancelled Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services.
Let's have a special prayer for those who may suffer damage as the power outage continues. Say a prayer for those who may miss a holiday service due to closed churches. And let's have another prayer for our troops who are serving galantly and well in difficult conditions. And finally, let's have a special prayer for those who's life Christ has touched in His special way that they too will come to know the reason for the season.
Bush's fault, trying to cover up his vote fraud and divert attention away from the vote suppression that disenfranchised tens of thousands
I'm so sorry for those coping with power disruptions. I went through that a couple of years, though not during Christmas. Prayers for them, may they be safe, in warm places with loved ones.
Oh man, sorry to hear that. My heart goes out to the citizens of Columbus.
All is well. I discovered today that Walmarts has a back up generator:')
I'm in Columbus visiting relatives.
What a mess.
A family of 3 placed a generator in their basement ( I think).
CO killed a child and father, mother is critical.
Coming up from NC, I was looking forward to a white Christmas.
Not anymore. Next year it is going to be a green Christmas.
Tonight -4. No Mas
Odd thing, the lights at the front of our development we lit last night when we got home, but every house after the entrance was dark, as was ours.
We braved it out, house was in the mid 50's overnight, but with an extra blanket, we stayed warm. Heated water on my BBQ grill to take a bath this morning.
Just went to a fast food and saw a UPS driver. He said his route was New Albany, including Wexner's area. Said they are still without power. Can't imagine those big money Type A's taking that.
Walmarts was down about two hours. I just sat in the warm car and read my Bible. It wasn't worth going all the way back home. A lot of people left but when the lights came back on it filled fast so many may have come back. It's a bad day to have to close your doors though.
We have a What a Burger that sits on the edge of Walmarts parking lot. They had power. It was strange.
