Believe me when I say I understand.
A couple of months ago I actually stopped driving because my sight was getting so bad, even with my glasses on. I was driving home from friends' on labor day just at dusk, my husband was behind me and afraid to call my cell phone to tell me to pull over. I was doing 30 in a 55 zone.
I was on the phone with an eye doctor's office the next morning.....and in the 2 weeks til I could get into the office I never got behind the wheel.
It seems that the lab that made the pair of glasses I was wearing had reversed the prescription. The lens that should have been for my right eye was on the left and viceversa. So for 18 months I was using not only useless glasses, but potentially damaging ones.
After 30 years of wearing glasses and always being told not to drive without them, and finally having that restriction put on my license (wonderful 40th b'day present) I now no longer "need" my glasses to drive.
"For awhile, my husband was unemployed (thanks to transferring so much as we often do in the military, as you know), he was at home with the children while I worked. I would NEVER EVER dream of treating him the way you described. We have had our share of arguments in six years of marriage, certainly. But name calling, hitting, and arguing in front of the children is NOT part of the deal. We have slipped from time to time, but one of us usually notices when we are heading off into a ditch and calls a time-out until we can talk more rationally. He has NEVER laid a hand on me, and vice versa."
Hmmm...Got any single girlfriends in NoCal? ;=)
Women want Their Own Way.
After all, that's where I keep my wallet.
Riiighttt.
Ad nauseum.
Most of us don't have a clue what we want from day to day, so why expect more from a woman?
I've always wondered that same thing. I always thought how nice it would be to have a wife, at least a wife like me.
Shoes.
Make that lots and LOTS of shoes.
The Imelda Marcos Collection?
Estee Lauder, Givenchy, Gucci...
Two words:
Joan Crawford.
Any questions?
No
GOL DANG, MAN!!! Ain't you never seen cowboy boots???!!!
LOL...sorry, you are out of luck! I don't even know anyone from Cali. :)
Keep lookin', I'm sure the right one is out there.
Geesh...I thought it was just me, lol! I don't drive at night, either. The glare is just too much for me. It scares me half to death to drive when it's dark, so I avoid it whenever I can.
I'm glad you got your glasses straightened out...since they reversed your prescription, did you get migraines? One place actually gave me the WAY wrong prescription once, and I didn't know it. I got migraines much more frequently, and never figured it out until I went to go to my eye exam and that's when I found out. I am so grateful I was never in an accident.
Nah, something a little less crazy...I try to keep it under 50 pairs, lol.
Heh, that comment was one I replied to. And yes ... I can see my nice black cowboy boots sitting in the closet.
Thank God for Texas.
I didn't get "migraines" per se - but was plagued with horrible headaches that I didn't understand because I rarely get headaches. At first I chalked them up to stress related to moving, I didn't associate the headaches with my glasses and the fact I was doing a LOT more driving and therefore wearing the glasses more than I used to.
I hate driving at night and try to avoid it as much as possible, and usually can get hubby to do the driving! In fact he called a little while ago and I reminded him that we have a school board meeting to attend this evening, and I need him to be home at a reasonable time because it's 25 miles from here at we need to be there at 7.
For me ? if I had a woman, she would come first ( other than GOD, GOD comes first ) and, I hope she would put me first in her life also, that is the way GOD wants it.
Well, it is good that you do not have a woman. You sound like my former son-in-law. My daughter worshiped the ground he walked on, if you know what I mean. They were married for five years and had a lovely sixteen month old daughter and my daughter was seven months pregnant with a son, when he walked out on her to live with another woman.
After one and a half years, they reconciled and had another baby. But, they did not remarry. Why? Because this man, the father of three children had been born again and could not marry a woman who was not a Christian such as himself. Yes, indeedy, he was going to church, and could not abide the thought that his wife would not be baptized in the faith.
Well, he is gone again, having put God above his children and the mother of his children. He would rather lean on his religion that take responsibility for his family.
You missed that the poster stated that his wife would be the priority in his life (second only to God).
This was clearly not the case with your former son-in-law.
God hates the treachery your former son-in-law perpetrated upon your daughter.Malachi 2:13This is another thing you do. You drown the Lord's altar with tears, weeping and wailing because he no longer accepts the offerings you bring him.
14 You ask why he no longer accepts them. It is because he knows you have broken your promise to the wife of your youth. She was your partner, and you have broken your promise to her, although you promised before God that you would be faithful to her.
15 Didn't God make you one body and spirit with her? What was his purpose in this? It was that you should have children who are truly God's people. So make sure that none of you breaks his promise to his wife.
16 "I hate divorce," says the Lord God of Israel. "I hate it when one of you does such a cruel thing to his wife. Make sure that you do not break your promise to be faithful to your wife."
