And if you'd like to be immune to viruses and have a system that's virtually crash-free ... try a mac.
Hi CC, Hi B2K,
It's nice to know not everything has gone hay wire since I waded into this Mac v Windows exchange about three + years ago :) You just can't argue values.
Merry Christmas to both of you, and a Happy New Year.
FRegards, btweim
LOL - GREAT to "see" you, bwteim!
Cheers! CC :)
You can also hack an X-Box and make a pretty decent PC out of it if you get bored with games.
Really? I did not know that.
This hilarious vid sums up my thoughts about the mac...

No system is crash free! And there are so few macs the virus people don't waste their time.
Yep, there is sure a long list of junk in the Wintel world!

Good to see you, too, CC. Glad that you are back. I thank you for your service.

I didn't apply for my current job, either. I was recruited to it.
1... Your statement has nothing at all to do with mine.
2... Basing opinions of customers on tech support war stories is hardly sensible.

It's just a starting point if you want to play with your machine - there are lots of great hacks for X-Box out there. (:

These guys certainly cannot be wrong!
I've been a MacUser for 16 years and have never had a problem that wasn't easily remedied by myself. I don't have a single window's user friend that hasn't had or continues to have problems. And still, they persist. Who know's what's going on there?
Everybody wants to be different, and yet you all stand in line.
Good luck!

"an advance as welcome as the day that VCR/DVD players were encased in the TV monitor box,"
Only some consider this an advance, have the VCR go out and need to be replaced and U buy new TV.....
I won't buy from smalldog because they support Planned Parenthood and just about any other left wing cause. I prefer B&H Photo Video. They have some good prices on new Macs, and if you don't live in New York, you save the sales tax. Also, they add some pretty good stuff, since Apple won't allow discounting beyond a certain point.
So in addition to the cost of a dell is the ongoing cost of virus software up to date? and the time?
Anti-Virus is at worst $20 a year. Set it and forget. Really, it is that simple. Don't install things that aren't free of the Internet and you will be fine. Don't buy into the hype.
