As a PC user who's getting VERY frustrated with having my Windows updates interfere with (or completely disable) various features on my system (my printer was the most recent casualty!) I'm curious about Mac.

System recommendations? Prices? Sources?

System recommendations? Prices? Sources?

The Macintosh eMac is available in a 17" (16" viewable) starting at $795

The new iMac G5 is avaialable starting at $1295 in the 17" Widescreen version.

The desktop G5 Tower is available starting from $1495 up to $2995

All of these run OSX.

For sources I suggest trying CDW.com's MacWarehouse.

Sources?

Buy refurbs from smalldog.com. I've purchased from them twice and their service is great. The refurbs are fully warranted and you can purchase AppleCare for them (a must for serious computerists).

As long as you do not have a need to run any popular software on your computer a Mac will work just fine for you. lol

any popular software

Adware? Malware? Spyware?

Which popular software are you talking about?

Office X on Mac is a much better product than on Windows, by the way.

Glenn, I get hit so many times by Mac users as to how great the product is. If it were so great it would be more popular! And if Apple hadn't stuck it's head up it's ass in the beginning they could have captured a larger market share.

It is a great graphics machine, but that is about it. It has bugs like every other software product on the market. It has it limits like everything on the market.

Hackers don't write viruses for it because, there aren't enough Mac's for it to matter, most of them are most likely Mac user's that hate MS, or most are anti-big business socialists that believe they are doing the world a favor.

The truth about Mac's is it almost went the way of the betamax video format because they couldn't give the piece of crap away to an unsuspecting public.

B.S.
Hackers don't write viruses because they won't propagate. It's more secure from the ground up.

most of them are most likely Mac user's that hate MS

Most hackers are Mac users - now I never heard that one before !

Isn't it pretty dark up there where your head is?

No it isn't dark. But I am tired of Mac users acking as if everyone who doesn't use a Mac is some type of inferior creature.

A virus will propagate on a MAc, one only needs to spend lthe time to develop the software, but why waste you time to attack 6 machines.

Yeah, stuff like SoBIG, LoveYou.virus, and all that popular stuff just won't run on my Macs.

Boo.

Hoo.

And there you have it - why spend the enormous effort to develop a Mac virus when it's so much easier to make a Windows one?

Admit it - your claim that most hackers are Mac users is stupid, and absurd.

As a I wrote, why would someone waste the time to create a virus that will onlyattack 6 machines out of every 500 computers.
