What I suspect may be a gathering storm on President Bush's horizon in 2005 is a confluence of factors that will force on Washington a fundamental immigration reform -- one that will seek to genuinely secure our borders. This is something that up until now neither the Republican Party nor the Democratic Party has wanted...
Adding piquancy to this legislative challenge for President Bush and the Republican-controlled Congress is the entrance from stage right of Hillary R. Clinton, 2008 Democratic Presidential Nominee, presumptive.
In the last few weeks the ever cold-blooded Miss Hillary has started to stake out a position to the right of the Republican Party. Just listen to her Pat Buchananesque defiance: "[I do] not think that we have protected our borders or our ports ... we can do more and we can do batter?I am, you know, adamantly against illegal immigrants... Clearly we have to make some tough decisions as a country, and one of them ought to be coming up with a much better entry-and-exit system so that if we are going to let people in for... work...lets have system that keeps track of them... People have to stop employing illegal immigrants."
These are hardly idle pensees coming from The Iron Maiden of Chappaqua. Rather, it is a part, and a big part, of her calculated strategy to shed her liberal image and seize the White House from the Republicans in 2008 by attacking them on the most vulnerable part of their right flank: open borders, illegal immigration and lax anti-terrorist security.
I never thought I would write the following words, but: God bless Hillary Clinton. Though her motives are cynical, their effects may well be vital both to our national security and to our sovereign responsibility to control our borders.

Very effective at accomplishing absolutely jack$hit!
Mr. President
Many Republicans voters will switch sides over this issue because they are learning that have no intentions on removing illegal aliens from American soil and they are finally realizing the financial costs the illegal aliens have brought with them.
Lets look at a bit of recent history. President Reagan (1981-1989) gave 2.7 million amnesty, (which told the Mexicans in Mexico, "Come on over, the Yankees will give us everything."
President GHW Bush (19891993) allowed them to come in unhindered, the President Clinton (1993-2001) following the example of President Reagan and your Dad, now we have you in office once again, (2001- 2008) allowing it to continue.
By 2009 we will had had 8 years of Democrats and 20 years of Republicans. Who will have been in power the longest in that 28 years? Republicans, that's who. Who will have had the best chance at correcting the problem? Republicans, that's who. Yes, the Republicans will have been in charge 2 1/2 times the length of time Clinton was in Office.
Sure we all love to kick the Dimocrats in the head because we disagree with their overly compassionate policies that give public benefits to everyone who puts their hand out.
Have the Republican Reps, RINO's and Sinators done a damn thing to fix the problem? Nothing that I would brag about. Homeland Security is a joke. The TSA employees who feel up the female airline passengers are a joke when it comes to security, thanks to your Dimocrat Secretary of Transportation, Mr. Minetta. Great selection, Sir! (sarcasm)
Your super compassionate "No Child Shall Be Left Behind" Program is great. In border cities, the Mexican kids come across for school and then return home to Mexico. I'm surprised you haven't opened the Canadian borders to the same policy.
Do you think we can afford to medicate, educate and house everyone who wants us to? You has some of the most socialist policies I have ever seen.
There may be some name changes going on if the Dimocrats become more conservative than the Pubs. What do you think of Remocrats and Dublicans.
Enjoy your coffee while you watch the power swing in the Sinate. It is time for you to consider just which party line you are going to follow but that is confusing isn't it.
The Republicans leaders don't appear to believe in closing the borders or doing anything effective about the illegals, do they.
It might be time to go down to Crawford, put your entire Cabinet out in the selection pens and decide just who goes to the slaughterhouse and who gets to stay.
Good Luck, Sir.
Actually, I was referring to "heroin dealer" in your comment >>"Ok, for the record to you a vegetable picker and the farmer who hires him is the moral equivalence to a heroin dealer to you.<<

The only reason hildabeast has taken up the issue of illegal immigration reform is because it makes her look good against the Bush Administration. If Bush was aggressive for reform and guarding the borders, then that witch would be taking the opposit road. I do not trust her motives, she out to try to wreck our President and to put herself in line in 2008. She's a fraud, a snake in the grass.
>>Spot on, Tony. This does provide a green light that Karl Rove and GWB have been waiting for.<<
Lets's pray they take the opportunity! So far Congress isn't doing much.

Then you should have stated so, instead of your cryptic reply #83 to t2d's reply #67 to me, which could be construed many different ways.
I wasn't going to let you get away with a heinous insult, which seems to be your modus operandi.
JMO, it could be WND trying to stoke your frenzy.
And are you going to beleive a person(hillary) who had a hand in pardoning FALN terrorists. If you do I have a bridge to sell you.
Nope. If our borders were secure, the economic problems in Mexico would be just that, in Mexico. I offer as evidence the formerly divided Europe. Eastern Europe was an economic cesspool while western Europe had a more-or-less thriving economy. I'll say it again: economic issues are completely secondary to the national security risks of having our ridiculously open borders.
According to this website, www.iht.com/articles/132064.html , Poland has about 1500 border guards to patrol a 325 mile stretch between Poland and the Ukraine. We have 7,700 Border Patrol agents to guard a 2,000 mile border. That means that while the Polish/Ukrainian border has one officer for every .2 miles of border, we only have one agent for every 3.85 miles.
I don't believe Hillary as far as I can throw her. It's fairly obvious that her turn to the right on illegal immigration is just an attempt to soften her uber-liberal reputation. I think Hillary's a threat to national security as much as terrorists coming across our borders.
Sir, allow me to be frank. You are a liar. Is that clear?
My modus operandi has never been to get into the name calling rants which are so popular on FR today. You have not yet apologized for your remark on #89 calling me scum. Don't bother to apologize. I am not going to publically say everything I think of you, because "liar" is sufficent.
Yes, I would say the same to your face. If you wish me to prove it, I will meet you at any airport that is approximately half way from where I live and you live. Agreed? When would you like this to happen?
Hoss, I never called you a ped.....
A MMMAAAARRRROOOOOONNNNNN....maybe....but not a "ped"
chill

O.K. It's going to "take time" to counter the migrant invasion from Mexico.
Where exactly on the radar map have we started?
(Please be specific, inquiring minds would like to know. Name me ONE major city where the illegal migrant population from Mexico has declined in the past five years.)
Analysis: U.S. Congress quietly approves border guard buildup
Your reply #83 could be construed many different ways since it was directed towards t2d's reply #67 to me and you put no qualifiers into you were directing your insult to, and you got caught.
I'm going to end this since I have defended my name and not get sucked into the gutter that you obviously like to roll in.
There are 40 million Latino/Hispanics living in America, 12-15 million of them illegal border jumpers.
In addition, there are millions of new immigrants and ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS from other third world countries, Africa, the Asian sub-continent, and even Eastern Europe.
There are MORE THAN ENOUGH new immigrants willing to do the type of menial jobs often done by non-English speaking people.
I drive down the street in cities here in New Jersey and sometimes see porchfuls of non English speaking Latinos sitting there, trying to figure out how they are gonna get a job or enough $$ to survive.
If we continue on our current path, America will be consumed by Latino/Spanish populations, which by my observations, can create create more babies than we can absorb.
I simply don't want my grandchildren having to fend for their God-given rights enumerated in the US constitution when some Che Cuevera type of leader suddenly takes power in the year 2049 or something.
I know you didn't but it is my policy to ping any freeper I mention in a reply.
The left has never been upset over anything Hillary says or does. They know she is one of them and will never do anything to hurt their causes. Unlike Republicans, who despise their conservatives for really trying to do something about open borders.
ROTFLMAO
Isnt that exactly the border proposal that President Bush is advancing?
It's not clear, but it doesn't look like it. The President's proposal is about more than allowing people in to work, it's also about legalizing a great many illegal aliens. I haven't seen that Hillary has advocated that, at least publicly.
Hilliary is going to deliever a crude awakening to the "free nannies for the rich" crowd. Funny isn't it, Bush has moved the GOP so far to the left that Hillary is beginning to look conservative! Whod da thunk it. Wait till she starts talking about 500 billion and growing budget deficits. 600 billion and growing trade deficits.
