Is Darwin winning the battle, but losing the war?
As soon as one challenge to the teaching of evolution is beaten in the courts, another emerges to take its place.
The current contender is intelligent design, a theory that according to advocates at the Discovery Institute makes no religious claims, but says that the best natural evidence for lifes origins points to design rather than a process of random mutation and natural selection.

Why couldn't a creator intelligently design an evolutionary process?Possibly for the same reason that an architect supplies a PLAN to the builders.
Oh, you'd get SOME kind of structure all right (all that building materials would NOT go to waste), but like anything else built by committee.............

Indivdual organisms do not evolve. Populations of organisms do.Sorry, but if individuals do NOT evolve, then there's no way in hell populations of them will!

I get a charge out of you Genesis critics. On one hand, you condemn the "literalists." On the other, you are incapable of recognizing figurative language when it bites you. Since you acknowledge that Genesis is "figurative language", then how come it's not figurative enough to encompass Evolution?
First you have this rigid idea that Genesis can't possibly allow that God created Evolution, but then you say it uses "figurative language".
Go figure.

How many BILLIONS of years has Earth Existed??
How many BILLIONS of individual creatures are there?
How many changes, per year, would have to happen for this to occur by ET?
You can surely do the math......

An isolated subpopulation of species "A" will evolve in different ways than other subpopulations of species "A".
Hoohah!
Deare's a WHOLE lots of isolating goin' on h'year!
Will this guess at 'how things are the way they are' work withOUT the isolatin'?

The main reason there is so much argument on this subject is because everyone is arguing about something different! You noticed; eh?

I just believe that whatever science discovers, God is the author of it. If there appear to be conflicts between the Bible and science, and I can't resolve them, I just shrug and live with a little cognitive dissonance.
I'm not aware of any scientific evidence against the Resurrection.

Do a little math yourself Elsie.
If you invest one cent on the first day of the month with 100% per day rate of return, how much money will you have at the end of the month? I.E. day 2 you have 2 cents, day 3 you have 4 cents, day 4 = 8 cents, etc.
Evolution works the same way. If after every million years just one species evolves into two, what happens after a few billion years?
Do the math Elsie. You'll be amazed.
