BARBRA STREISAND is sick of advertisments for anti-impotence drugs, deeming them "morally questionnable".
The singer and actress claims Hollywood films hardly ever shape our moral attitudes, unlike commercials for CIALIS, which improves a man's ability to function for up to 36 hours.
She moans, "I resent this thing about Hollywood and moral values. What movies are out now that have questionable moral values?
"You know what I think has questionable moral values? The Cialis commercials."
I'm very conservative, dislike Barbara Streisand, and am also tired of these ED commercials and the commercials for feminine higeine or infections etc.
It all is an attempt to desensitize us and to make the drugs household names and acceptable like asprin or tylenol.
I don't like to have to explain what that stuff does to a young kid who really doesn't need that information yet.
We have restrictions on the content of the shows - why not restrictions on the ads?
LOL!
Streisand has a son, Jason Gould, from her first marriage with Elliott Gould. Jason happens to be gay, but he's not dead.
Well, actually, I kind of get a kick out of him, but I really like retro.
( I do, however, get tired of seeing those ads every five minutes, though! )
BTW: "Alert the media" is one of the things I say to my daughter...so we have something ELSE in common! LOL!
Stay warm!
See my post above.
Fine by me too. I don't need those ads to decide what brand I'm going to buy in the stores......
Well, I guess it's been a long time since Babs' visit to the Clinton White House?! ;-)
Or how about that new Julia Roberts gag-fest, "Closer"?
I hate to agree with her, but I do dislike those ads. Yet in this era of AIDS, they do allow those ads while tabacco ads are prohibited.
What?
Really?
Smilin'Bob and Mrs. Smilin Bob are the same person?
Alexander(Alexander the "magnificent"), Meet the Fockers (come on Babs..."Fockers?"), Saw, Seed of Chucky, Ray(details Mr. Charles life including drug abuse and domestic violence) Team America(although pretty funny), Alfie(the life of a playboy...who cared?), Oceans 12(who should we rob next?) and there are plenty more. I don't question the morals of Hollywood, the absolute value of zero is zero. To question the moral values of Hollywood would be to imply, first, that they have any.
I believe it was the son she had when she was married to Elliot Gould.
KINSEY
Do you hear me now? The film defends the "study" of a pervert who should be mentioned in the company of Josef Mengele.
"You know what I think has questionable moral values? The Cialis commercials."
I like the part about seeing a physician if your erection lasts more than four hours. It cracks me up.
Now that's funny
In all seriousness I have to admit I'm with BS on this one. Those "male enhancement" commercials are the worst. Anytime I watch TV with the kids around I have to keep a quick finger on the remote to hurry and switch channels if needed. Lord only knows what happens when the kids are watching alone.
Instead of worring about Cialis why don't you open your flap up about your fellow filmmakers being murdered for their Art. Not a peep out of Streisand about that.
This is very hypocritical. This is from the "actress" who is about to play a hippie sex therapist in the upcomming "meet the parents II".
Streisand is turning herself into box office poison right before our eyes and ears.
Another great film for the whole family. It deals with the search for freedom, a child escaping from the Communist bloc. BUT, it's not being released throughout the nation...just 14 states last I checked.
