Christmas Under Siege: The Big Picture (O'Reilly is finally on the right side of something!)

Christmas Under Siege: The Big Picture

Tuesday, December 07, 2004

By Bill O'Reilly

Christmas under siege — the big picture. That is the subject of this evening's "Talking Points Memo."

All over the country, Christmas is taking flak. In Denver this past weekend, no religious floats were permitted in the holiday parade there. In New York City, Mayor Bloomberg unveiled the holiday tree and no Christian Christmas symbols are allowed in the public schools. Federated Department Stores, [that's] Macy's, have done away with the Christmas greeting, "Merry Christmas."

Now, all of this anti-Christian stuff is absurd, and may even be a bias situation. But the real reason it's happening has little to do with Christmas and everything to do with organized religion.

Secular progressives realize that America as it is now will never approve of gay marriage, partial birth abortion, euthanasia, legalized drugs, income redistribution through taxation, and many other progressive visions because of religious opposition.

But if the secularists can destroy religion in the public arena, the brave new progressive world is a possibility. That's what happened in Canada.

You can join the fight against the ACLU and their ilk by becoming involved with and supporting the following organizations:

Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) - http://www.alliancedefensefund.org

Thomas More Law Center (TMLC) - http://www.thomasmore.org

American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) - http://www.aclj.org

The Rutherford Institute - http://www.rutherford.org/

Stop the ACLU Coalition - http://www.stoptheaclu.org

Here are a few examples of how two of those organizations are fighting back:

ADF Contacts Over 3,600 School Districts Over Attempts To Censor Christmas

ADF: 700 lawyers ready to fight ACLU lawsuits

ADF: Pentagons' Warning About Boyscouts Is Absurd

Thomas More Law Center: Town of Palm Beach Pays $50,000 In Attorney Fees Apologizes To Women In Nativity Lawsuit

It's okay to say Merry Christmas:

"Merry Christmas. Believe It. Say It. Wear it!"

Here in San Diego, "Christmas on the Prado" in Balboa Park has been renamed "December Nights." Now we gather around the December tree and sing December carols like...
"It's beginning to look a lot like December."
"The first December (Noel)"
"O Spiffy (Holy) Night"
From the bottom left corner of the USA we wish you a totally sensitive andpolitically correct December.

If every single practicing Christian stopped buying any retail for just one Christmas season, the whole secular attack would come down with a resounding crash.

Do we put our Christianity in front of this season, or do we just continue to shop sales?

'OReilly is still a egotistical blowhard who will change his tune at the drop of the hat ....' Very well said. My wife and I, we don't trust this guy. He does not have the face of an honest man.

It's a no-brainer for us. There are a lot of people out there, though, who are buying into this nonsense and trying to deny us Christmas. Someone needs to stand up and say what O'Reilly did last night--and frankly, not very many are doing so! Note--I'm not saying "no one" just not very many. Other posts provide links for groups who are both saying and doing something about it. If you love our country and the 1st Amendment, please do whatever you can. Religious freedom for Christians is at stake.

Liberals hate Chist and the war on Christians has begun!! The first step is to make Christmas into the N-Word. Merry Christmas to all.

In these times, yes, it is bold. Especially for someone like O'Reilly who's been courting the left lately. Not many folks are speaking out about this anti-Christian, anti-Christmas nonsense, except in passing. I'm not saying no one is speaking out, but there aren't very many. I'm grateful to anyone who does the right thing these days--but that doesn't mean I'm going to go back to watching his show regularly.

As an old friend once told me, "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes."
O'Blabber must still be disappointed that his recommendation to appoint BJ Clinton as Secretary of State (to replace Colin Powell) wasn't accepted.

Progressing towards discovering the fact that Christ is REAL.

'Progressive' approved holiday songs:
1.- Joy To The Weird

2.- Have Yourself An Artificial Christmas

3.- Oh, Little Town Of Beelzebub

4.- We Three Kings Of DisOriented Are

5.- The Holiday Song

6.- Salient Night

7.- Hark The Hate Speech Angels Sing

8.- Oh Holiday Tree

9.- Adeste Infidelis

10.- Liberals Watching Over Me

11.- A Chill Is Born

12.- I'll Be Home For Holiday

13.- I Saw Mommy Kissing That Man In The Red Suit

14.- It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Holiday

15.- Jolly Old Man In The Red Suit

16.- Have A Holly Jolly Holiday

17.- The Man In the Red Suit Is Coming To Town

18.- (I'm Dreaming Of A) White Holiday

19.- RudeDog The Red Nose Reindeer

20.- Who's Child Is This?

'Holiday' play in my town: 'December Rainbow' about an American community, at first putting on a traditional Christmas nativity play, which becomes enlightened when multicultural change agents come to help them realize they are leaving out other religions, and thus part of the community. Result: a multi-religion holiday production about the importance of tolerance and diversity.

I disagree. Especially after this election, complaining about the anti-Christmas crowd is right there with complaining about the McDonald's hot coffee jury award. Ppl are sick of it and think it's stupid and O'Reilly is riding that trend, not leading it.
