Gregoire Tells Democrats to Recount Whole State -- or None
KOMO-TV ^ | 2 December 2004

Posted on 12/02/2004 12:19:47 PM PST by Publius

Christine Gregoire is asking her Democratic Party to request a recount all the votes in Washington or don't count at all.

Gregoire says she knows it would be cheaper for the party to request a partial recount in a few counties that would likely help her overcome Dino Rossi's 42-vote lead.

But she says her goal is to count all the votes in the state to settle the governor's race.

The party has until 5 p.m. Friday to request the recount. Democrats have been raising money for the count that would cost about $700,000.

The John Kerry campaign donated $250,000 toward the Washington recount.

From what I've heard they are ready to file a legal suit against King County for NOT counting some ballots the DEMS wanted counted (AFTER THE ELECTION).....and that they want to drag this into January.....

The 42 vote margin is AFTER the state mandated recount. She lost both the first count, and the recount. End of story.

This process is outrageous, including Kerry's $$$ meddling in our Washington State election. I can only hope that GOP attorney's are preparing the federal court case that is likely to be required to resolve this fiasco.

If she would happen to win, she will face a recall. Already drafting the petition to file with the Secretary of state the day she is sworn in. With a Republican AG, she has no chance of not facing a recall election.

Aside from Justice Richard Sanders, the Washington State Supreme Court makes the Florida Supreme Court look like a bunch of Amatuers when it comes to ignoring the law and constitution.

The Washington State Supreme court is corrupt as hell. I can prove it, and Gregoire knows it. So is she, and she knows I have the proof as well.

Can someone answer this?

There have been two machine counts and the Rep candidate won them both.

I think it has been statistically shown that a hand count of 3 million cards will be LESS accurate than a machine count.

Why can't the Reps make a legal case that the uncertainty would be less with a machine count and therefore that one of the two machine counts should trump the hand count?

Because the law permits a hand count.

"Because the law permits a hand count"

I realize that a hand count is premissible but can't it be legally challenged on the grounds that it is an inferior estimate?

Those studies have been done -- no way humans can produce a better result than the machines.

I'm sorry to disagree with both of you but I am convinced that the democrats are out to steal this election.

The reason for pushing a statewide hand recount are this:

1. King County will be by design the last county to report results.

2. Once all counties other than King County have reported results, democrats will know how many votes King County needs to find, alter or divine in order to put Gregoire over the top.

3. Paying for the statewide recount will mitigate criticism that taxpayers pay for any subsequent recounts should they be requested.

4. Manually recounting all counties will appear 'fair' thereby legitimizing the stolen election.

I apologize if these points have been previously made. I did not take the time to read all posts.

Our family is very upset by the actions taken by democrats in Seattle both before, during and after the election. We would like to hear how Rossi campaigners might defend their election success.

Don't worry. Gregoire will not be the governor.
