Without Beavis and Butthead or Lt. Mike Torello, this list is a travesty!

Archie Bunker as #1? Only in a leftie liberalpuke's dream.

Buffy as #13? NAH!

My childhood hero was Robin Hood (Richard Greene), which was broadcast on morning TV circa 1960. Actual eps were made circa 1955-56, and are still available for sale today.

Mannix. We have a talk show host in Boston who, if I recall correctly, is a big fan of Mannix. :-)

Dr. Smith is at 97. A rip off. The entire cast of WKRP should be in the top 10. Also, conspicuous by their absence are Boss Hogg and Louie from Taxi.

I know it's a cult phenomenon...
but I do like "Prisoner No. 6"
as played by Patrick McGoohan (sp?).

The best characters were multifaceted. Archie was. True that the best characters often has the best writers, but it took a great actor to "get it" and play the whole person inside of the character. I think Niles Crane should be up there with Archie and Homer.

Perry Mason, from back when trial lawyers were good guys.

And come to think of it, why not Paul Drake, Hamilton Burger, Della Stevens, and Lt. Tragg?

Wishbone
Rowdy Yates
Ben Cartwright

How can they have Homer Simpson in the top ten
and leave out Roy Rogers and the Long Ranger?
This list must have been made up by twelve year olds.
