monkey humping a robot

ROFLMAO! Thats actually a baby monkey clinging to a surrogate mother. It's probably an orphan or a zoo monkey whose mother has rejected it. Some people just do their thinking with the wrong part of their anatomy I guess.

Oh, that is horrible! Poor kitty! He's fixin' to crawl under a rock and die

Not likely. He does have death in his eyes, but not his.

I think the intentional mis-spellings come from famous troll posts. I know that's where beeber came from.

I saw this as well. Although I've seen that Bunny posted on a number of threads, can someone please explain the derivation?

That's Oolong the bunny, he became famous on the internet for being willing and able to balance various things on his head. Here's his homepage (mostly in Japanese), and here's an English page of highlights.

For what it's worth, the "monkey humping a robot" photo is from a study done in the late 60's or early 70's, researching the "mother" preferences of baby monkeys. The monkeys were given choices between mechanical "mothers" with or without terry-cloth "fur" (as seen in the photo -- the baby monkey is actually *hugging* the mechanical figure), with various facial features, etc. The same study also raised some babies with "furred" mothers and some without, etc., in order to see whether that had an effect on the monkey's adult behavior and personality.

Although it was done on monkeys, it was hoped that the results would have relevance to the preferences and nurturing requirements of human babies, which seems reasonable at least in general. Needless to say, it would be unethical to do similar long-term experiments with human babies, thus the use of monkeys.

And yes, I've been around long enough to know what a "ping" is, what "hugh" means, about the shower reference, and that moose, cheese and sister thing.

"Oh, the hugh manatee" was my favorite, BTW.

I'm also unfamiliar with the bunny genesis. This is series!

Actually the bunny pic is used to spam threads that people don't like. Or sometimes to spam threads that people like, like this one. My own vanity was spammed by the bunny droids who alleged that it didn't make sense. But it did make sense. At least to me. It was satire, maybe they don't understand satire.
