~ Saturday Night Jukebox ~ |
Welcome to our Saturday Night Jukebox! We begin our Holiday Music Editions. If you see a red colored box, this is a warning box. The music may not be appropriate for children. If you see a green colored box, this is holiday music we've added for your enjoyment. A Navy blue box is a music request that we have received. We hope you enjoy it. If you would like to reach us via email, you can do so at canteenusa@canteenusa.com . Please put "Music Request" in the subject line. Thank you. (Music will be removed Monday morning!) Don't forget to request music on the thread! *** Thank you for all the requests we are receiving through email! Keep them coming! We are absolutely honored to provide music for our Troops and their families!! *** |
Music Dedication Holiday Editions Hanukkah begins December 8th. Christmas is December 25th. Get your holiday music requests in via FReepmail, email, or on the thread! Thank you! The music selections are for a variety of musical fans out there. If there's a song or genre of music that we've missed, please make your requests known to the Canteen Deejays! |

Engine, then Aircraft Mechanic. Active USAF from 1972-76. Reserve AF from 1976 to present.
C-130s, C-141Bs, KC-135s.

Awesome pic, Kathy!
LAPES (Low Altitude Parachute Extraction System)
Initial idea developed by Marine, Navy and AF pilots whose C-130s were being shot up at Khe Sahn in 1968. While landing and pushing out cargo.
Come in verrrrry low (5 to 12 feet) open up the parachute on a palletized piece of armor or cargo. Releade the Restraint Locks on both sides of the plane. Let the chute pull the cargo out.
We had two squadrons of Herks out of five that trained and used LAPES during exercises at Pope AFB and Ft. Campbell. One one exercise the Loadmaster released early and an M-166 Sheridan Fast Recon Vehicle (The same type of armored track as in the photo)made a very expensive hole in the ground (OOOOPS!)
Jack.

ExCUSE me, young lady! Why'd you cross off stuffing???
SPEAKING OF WHICH! I had, stress HAD, 2 boxes of Mrs. Cubbison's dressing...I'd SEEN it the week prior to yesterday in this house. I believe the turkey hid them, threw them away, whatever. When it came time to stuff the bird, they were both gone. Poof. Gone.
Gramps went to the store and bought THE LAST box. Sheesh.
The bird lost. We won. Yeah us! :)
