Should The F-22 be cancelled?
26-nov,2004 | Me

Yes. This type of aircraft has no place in the modern battlefield and Foreseeable conflicts. The money could be put into more usefull sistems (each unit cost about $235 million for 239 planes) Whats your opinion?

"we may not be as far ahead of the rest of the world as we once thought",air force chief of air combat command gen.hal hornburg candidly admitted to the press after his pilots were trounced by indian aviators during cope india 04 exercise."We always knew we were good",an indian air force spokesman said."but it is only when the U.S.says so that the world takes notice".just how well the indian pilots performed the U.S. air force refused to say.results have been classified. However, the british media claimed an unnamed U.S congressman who had been briefed on the exercise said american pilots were defeated in 9 out of 10 engagements. The mock combat pitted the older air force f-15c eagle fighter against the indian air forces new russian made sukhoi su-30mk flanker,a 2 seat multirole fighter.American pilots in the mock air to air combat were drawn from the 3rd wing of pacific air forces.weapons fire was simulated with radar."the U.S. air force has never flown with or against the su-30 flanker before,so that aspect of this exercise is completely new for us" Capt. mark snowden,an eagle pilot, said in an interview distributed by the air force prior to the exercise.an analysis of the exercise by the new delhi based india defence consultants,a military affairs think tank, cited its sources as saying that the americans and indians had spotted each other on their radar screens at the same moment, but that the indians shot first.another factor, said idc,may have been the absence of 2 critical support air craft, the grumman e-2c hawkeye and boeing e-3b sentry.each carries an airborne warning and control system(awacs).normally operating with eagles, awacs equipped aircraft spot targets minutes before ther appear on cockpit radars, and then help pilots determine how to best attack the opposing force.idc said that the inability of american pilots to win without awacs support could lead to changes in tactics that place higher value on protecting these assets.hornburg believes a more sweeping overhaul is needed."the exercise leads me to remind people that we need to modernize our air-to-air capability".

dude you are nuts. you obviously understand nothing about modern warefare. Air supiority is key. This jet hands down defeats any plane out there. Very much needed. 300 million is cheap.

"Cancel the F22 and divert the money the JSF project."

You DO understand that the two aircraft are different in terms of both mission and therefore capabilities, don't you? One does NOT replace the other.

And one is in imminent danger of cancellation, and it's NOT the one which is ready for service, oh, next year.

Those who recommend replacing the F-22 with the JSF-35 would be well advised to learn the parameters and capabilities of both, lest they recommend a serious hole in our defenses by mistake.

"You evidently have such little awareness in the field, that all the evidence in the world would be mystifying gibberish because you'd have no track record of a background, context or reference point from which to evaluate anything--short of a craft landing in your back yard and being left there."

Top, translated this means, "I have no evidence whatsoever, so to cover that fact I'm going to claim that you wouldn't understand it anyway".

The UFO/conspiracy/X-Files kooks think a lack of evidence proves something.

Just ignore 'ol Quix...he's a nut.

I see that Top has been sharing his sweetness with you.

BTW, your assumptions are extremely flawed.

My Mormon Bishop Dissertation Chairman . . .

one day when I noticed the Book of Mormon in his trunk as he was getting his brief case out . . .

I asked him how he dealt with all the revisions of the Book of Mormon which was supposedly never changed etc.

He said, rather wisely, imho,

that "life was SO complex that just about any cockamaymee explanation would do."

He was a brilliant character. Would persent, one year, 11 papers at the APA convention when most people were honored to manage one.

I realize that wisdom and humility may not be second nature with you . . . but in an area of such complexity, soooo much disinformation and secrecy . . . one might consider other options than narrow minded, rigid dismissiveness.

All the more so if you haven't had a close relative working around such craft daily, routinely.

Or are you in a habit of disbelieving otherwise thoroughly honest, honorable, etc. close relatives and calling them ignorant liars? Must make Thanksgiving dinner a real interesting food fight!

Paragraphs are wonderful things.

Especially aging eyes need microrests to make reading text remotely comfortable. Many people won't bother with text more than 8-15 lines long without a white space between shorter paragraphs.

The Preview button can make it clear whether the paragraphing is taking hold or not.

Leave all the greater/less than signs out and the system will likely formate well enough. Sometimes it seems to need an extra white line inserted with the enter/return button but most of the time it seems to put extra ones in.

But, please, at least put SOME in!

Some of us have enjoyed tossing the issues around philosophically from whatever perspective.

Your diatribe seems AT LEAST as unwelcome, to me, as whatever deficits you ascribe to the poster.

You rant at him with similar lack of grounds as you accuse him of having for his position.

Interesting.

If those relatives make off-the-wall claims straight out of SciFi, with NO evidence or bona fides to back them up, and expect everyone to just BELIEVE, yes. I might also call the funny farm for a pickup.

What I find funny is the fact that you apparently do not realize just how inane your posts atre getting.

Oh, and I haven't forgotten that you once posted that you thought that America "deserved" 9-11. That makes anything you say about our military suspect.

It also makes me pretty much ignore anything you post that requires any trust.

I believe Boeing has to have been the major contractor on our UFO platforms. Have had intimations toward that but insufficient puzzle pieces, so far, for me to conclude it emphatically.

But I think it's a very wise educated guess.

No.

How do you KNOW Bigfoot wasn't at the controls?

I have a friend whose brother-in-law of a second cousin's maternal grandfather said they SAW Bigfoot at the controls. At least they said it looked like the same Bigfoot they think they saw in Washington state a decade ago.

My relative had the quality job at the super secret site. There was plenty of evidence of that.

Besides, perhaps you haven't noticed . . . though I'd think you have the mental horse power to have noticed and factored it in . . . .

SOME relatives are quite trustworthy and believable regardless

and some aren't.

If you haven't learned to make that distinction, I encourage you to learn how to make it ASAP. It can help life to go better by quite a margin.

Your personal assaults really help make you more convincing. Keep the unnecessary insults up, too. It improves your attractiveness to a whole pack of rabid dogs hereabouts.

I didn't realize you were trying to make a stab at fantasy writing.

Perhaps you sould consider leaving it to Tolkien.
