I would like to say a hardy thank you to everyone who in the past has called me an idiot for thinking the cold war wasn't really over, and that we were being taken for a ride...

I hope to God Bush knows what he's doing in all of this... It seems like a pretty entangling alliance to me.

From your name I guess you are a vet too. Of course you are for America!!

That is why we cannot get all mad at other conservative Americans just because they don't like George Soros and anybody he likes. To me he is about as evil as any commie because he has the ear of so many liberal Americans and puts his money in back of them to prop them up.

One thing that cracks me up about this, is that we can't even trust exit polls in our own nation, as evidenced by the events on 11/02/04. Today exit polls in the Ukrane thus are deemed more valid than our own.

We've elected to push an international disagreement based on exit polls. Oui vey!

If your comments are accurate, and I have no way of knowing for sure, that would definately add to the lunacy of this situation.

"It will do nothing but encourage the Ukranians to stand up to Russia, which they cannot do."

I'm glad our founding fathers didn't share that attitude.

I'm not stopping you... I'll just say thank you now, I suppose.

Yanukovich's two convictions for theft and assault in his youth re-emerged as a campaign issue. Yushchenko said the prime minister's criminal record made him unfit for office.

Far cry from the child rape charges you keep screaming about. By the way, in the Soviet Union they executed child rapists. Where exactly did you come with that from?

Ukraine cannot stand up to any of its large neighbors except through alliances. Even then it would just be a battlefield. Again.

You do realize that half the population voted for Yunukovich, right? Does that sink in? Apparently not. When you talk about those people, you are only talking about half of them at best.

Oh, and we didn't need France's help in our revolution? I suppose that French fleet was useless.

Yes we can and we should. We have enough on our plate right now, let the Ukrainians "work it out" with Russia. Might keep Russia busy while we tend to our interests

I understand where you are coming from, but let's review a little history.

Britain and France assured Poland they would come to it's rescue if it were invaded in WWII. Poland stood it's ground and Britain and France suffered simultanious amnesia when it was invaded.

In the 60s, Czeckoslovakians tried to stand tall against the Russians. The U.S. had shoot it's mouth off about why the Russians shouldn't go in. The Czecks thought they were going to be saved by the U.S. Were they?

Look, if were were realisticly likely to rush in to save the Ukrane, I might agree with the bluster. I don't think we're likely to and I don't want to raise false hopes.

I don't want to raise false hopes.

Don't be shy, use your words to raise real hopes until you are appointed to do more.
