I'll bet he is staying on 60 Minutes II for the following reasons:
---to repair his reputation and not call it quits until the Forged Doc scandal is forgotten.
---because he refuses to be pushed out - no matter how uncredible he is any longer. Since 60 Minutes wanted to get rid of 60 Minutes II because it taints their show - of course Dan Rather exerts his "power" to show them who runs the show at CBS.
He is laughable. Not to worry about ol Dan any longer.

"This is NOT a win at all."I am sorry to have to agree with you. Rush Limbaugh had reported some time ago that he would be stepping down from the anchor spot in the spring. He is a liar and a fraud and will get to keep a cushy little assignment with 60 minutes when he should be forced out in disgrace. And that "investigation" will be buried forever. But note: Rather has merely been demoted, not fired. He's no longer the CBS News anchor, but he's still a 60 Minutes correspondent.
...And whatever happened to that "internal investigation" into those forged military documents?
