Have We Thanked Rush Limbaugh For Saving America?
self | 11.20.04 | JohnRobertson

Posted on 11/20/2004 6:34:48 AM PST by John Robertson

Just read this on a Clinton/Jennings thread, from a Freeper: "Back in August of 1988, a new voice came on the radio, the lovable little fuzzball - el Rushbo. Prior to then, I avoided politics and editorials, because I thought I was alone in my views. I voted conservatively and privately. Then Rush gave a voice to conservative thought."

And it made me think of something I've been meaning to post for a while...

Thank you Rush for saving me from the bowels of liberalism!

Ewwww.

Actually, that's a pretty fair metaphor.

And we know what liberals are full of, don't we?

Have We Thanked Rush Limbaugh For Saving America?

Now that's a stretch...Limbaugh saving America? give me a stinking brake!

While I do acknowledge his input/contribution to the Kerry's defeat/W's win in the race for the presidents office, I will not bow to Limbaugh's altar of self aggrandizing.

...after 15+ Years of defending the Republican cause, I think you do have the Bragging rights to gloat about it, when your Party wins and wins BIG!

No doubt, Rush has done a lot to advance conservatism over the years, but Man of the Year 2004 ? Yassar Arafat made more important news this year by dying then Rush did for all his efforts ...

LOL

In all seriousness, I would take Bush over Rush for 2004 myself.

It's late, so I'm not going to be nice. You simply don't get it. If you READ (try not to hurt your lips) the beginning of the post, you'll see it's about Rush's PART in the re-making of the American media landscape. And it's a big damn part. It's a mountain, my friend.

And you're getting a little too literal on us. The headline, Have We Thanked Rush Limbaugh for Saving America?, was written to make people tune in, as it were.

One like this, How A Conservative Radio Host Helped to Spread the Conservative Philosophy...well, let's just say it doesn't make you want to click on it and go there at once.

Ditto!

I don't know how Rush does it every day, but he keeps me thoroughly informed and entertained.

IMHO, he is one of the Best Radio Personalities of our Time.

He's like an old friend. I talk to others as though I personally know him. He has given us much and asked really nothing in return.

I vote Rush for Man of the Year!

If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything comes to mind.

That's the real power of Rush. It's not about him preaching to the choir that the liberals hate, it's the fact that he has the ability to persuade those that don't agree with him.

As we have read on many earlier posts, most people that disliked Rush, had never listened to him and once they did they found out they agreed with him more than they thought!

"Yassar Arafat made more important news this year by dying then Rush.."

Welcome to conservatism. Your transition in thinking is not yet complete. What the media considers important and news is not the standard that real conservatives use. And Time's past choices of people to be Man of Year are relevant only as illustrations of how out of touch with reality that the lame-stream media actually is. The media are not purveyors of news; they are the propaganda organ for the socialist left. What I have said about Time applies to the Noble committee when they get outside of science. Even within the scientific community the committee can't rid itself of its propagandizing functions in some of its awards.

RS, don't be afraid to voice your thoughts at FR, but be prepared to take some heat and if you see an abestos monitor on ebay, consider buying it.

Is that the most intelligent comment you have ? ( and you've been here almost as long as I have... maybe his kid found his password... )

I have never seen any intelligent responses from you. You appear to be nothing more than a "don't confuse me with facts, I hate the guy anyway. I still suggest you try listening to him once in awhile. It may take you some time, but eventually, you may come to understand what he does.

You are not nearly as impressive as you declare yourself to be.

That may be so, but Times Man of the Year is given according to Times criteria, and Rush has simply not made news - ( besides the mention of his drug use as in todays Doonesbury ).

If you wish to count behind the scenes people who did NOT have the spotlight, Karl Rove or even George Soros did much more then Rush to effect the news.

"You are not nearly as impressive as you declare yourself to be."

This coming from someone whose only posts on this thread have been attacks on other Freepers.

Nothing on-topic of interest to say ?

There is no equal to Rush. He has been instrumental in guiding this country away from disaster. He belongs in the history books as much as any other national patriotic figure in this country.

That was a weak reply by you. The only freepers I attack are those showing a bias against Rush for no apparent reason other than ignorance of what he is and does.

Oh Ok, so your only function here is to nip at the heels of those who don't share your blind-eye loyalty and God-like devotion. Got it ...

Wrong again. You exhibit irrational hatred towards Rush. Why, other than trying to impress someone with your "difference," do you even appear on Rush threads? You surely cannot expect everyone to immediately change their minds because of you do you? I have seen you on lots of Rush threads spouting you hatred towards the man.

I have to agree with all the supporters on this thread that Rush has done a great job. If he wasn't effective, why is it that liberals all over denounce him? Remember Howard Dean saying he wants to take the country back from Rush Limbaugh?

Are you jealous of his influence?
