This time, the blood spills in "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas," which looks, feels and sounds a lot like its predecessors. That means you pull off drive-bys and other hard-core criminal goals, while killing cops, prostitutes and hundreds of innocent victims on the side. Some people complain that the game could desensitize children to murderous images. But it's rated M for Mature. Kids aren't supposed to have access to it, even though we know that many will. [...] There's sex in "San Andreas," as there was in "Grand Theft Auto III." For a small amount of money, you can pick up hookers and drive them behind a bush. The car rocks. Talk is exchanged. [...] The game is smart like that, but the characters aren't. The one thing I can't make happen is intellectual reflection. Characters point guns. Characters kill one another other. Not one stops to think.

That could be cool. I notice it's hardly come down in price. Maybe I'll pick it up in May for cheap, which will tide me over until SA is cheap. I'm cheap.
Do I want these games in my house? No.
Will I let my kids play these games in someone else's house? No.
Do I want these games banned? No.
The first HL is still like 30. I doubt it will drop any time in the next year or so. But it's completely worth every penny. That with the new Counter Strike that comes with it. Plus HL2 has a great deathmatch game.
I don't do death match, got bored with that back in the days of Doom 2 and Duke Nukem.
a gun you get to use in the single player game. You can pick up large objects with it and throw it at enemies. In deathmatch, one of the levels is a jail. You can pick up toilets and smash your enemies skull with it :-D
Yeah but it's still death match.
Got the PC version a couple of days ago. Great game. Takes up where Vice City left off in terms of graphics, gameplay and the overall hugeness of the world. Very well done.
Excellent website.
He was/is way ahead of his time. His book, Stop `Teaching Out Kids to Kill is good. So is, On Killing. His credentials are impeccable.
Parents should pay attention to what their kids are consuming. Supposedly good parents who wouldn't dream of giving their kids ice cream for breakfast, let their kids consumer almost anything in terms of music, video games and movies etc.
He spends MORE time looking for the 'goodies'(helicopters/airplanes/etc) than in the killing stuff. And he won't do any 'killing stuff' when his little sisters are watching him play. ALSO, they are NOT ALLOWED to touch his game systems unless he's there to supervise what they play. (HIS rules)
He's a 'mean' big brother. Just ask the girls!
Not to tell you how to raise your kids, but you should read this to see the game your kid is playing:

No problem. By the way, the rating on all GTA games is "M" for Mature. The equiv. of an R rating in movies.
