Pres. Bush's vote total from the Nov. 2004 election has now exceeded 61 1/4 million votes which is nearly 11 million more votes than he received in 2000! The national vote count is winding down. Pres. Bush's final vote total should approach 61.5 million. The current AP vote count is lagging by more than 600,000 votes.
"they won't be able to count on that vote in 2008"
Heh... yeah, but some of the same nimrods who would have voted for anyone but Bush will be similarly motivated to vote anyone not Republican / not conservative. OTOH, this year's 22 year olds will be 26 (21s will be 25, etc) in 2008, and will have spent at least a few years working for a living instead of being immersed in the partisan shill environment of the academy.
Those who drop out or flunk out because they smoke too much crack will still vote against Republicans, blaming that party for their inability to remain in school.
Another note about 22 year olds in 2004... in 2000 they were 18, and it's a good guess that many voted for the criminal co-conspirator Al Gore, who wanted a $2 a gallon gasoline "Carbon" tax (over and above current excise taxes) and part of their motivation to vote anybody but Bush came from their belief that the election, the very first one in which they were able to vote, was stolen (which it wasn't). 2004 was supposed to be what they would have regarded redemption time, and it wasn't.
However, it was redemption time, because the country turned out in record numbers in order to reject the traitor and liar John Kerry, and his pack of rats, a list which includes Michael Moore, Dan Rather, and various other entertainment industry a-holes, and to vote for the President's reelection.
If the country had turned out in record numbers in 1992 or 1996, 3000 people who worked in the WTC and Pentagon and flew on those planes on 9/11/2001 would mostly still be alive. OTOH, Afghanistan would still be ruled by the Taliban today, Saddam Hussein would likely still be in power, and the UN sanctions on Iraq would likely have been lifted.
Arafat would still have contracted AIDS and died from it though.

The sad thing is, Kerry also broke Reagan's record. Which means if we don't have someone so wonderful as Bush next time and someone so bad as Kerry from the other side - we could easily face a large defeat.
Didn't Clinton pick up Seats in 1998?

Hang on while I crawl out onto the building ledge to ask her.
Prospects not good for that. Right now -- according to the AP count -- Bush has 51.408% of the vote. He would have to get up to 51.5 percent in order to round it up to "52%" -- and I kind of doubt, even if he did that, the MSM would round their numbers to make Bush's win look more impressive. Be happy for 51% to 48%. Even more: Be happy for 55% of the Senate!
Clinton received just short of 45 million the first time, and just over 47.5 million the second time.
Bush's numbers completely dwarf his.
How's about an update? We're up to 60.6 million now.
Thanks!
You know what's really funny and odd--my spell checker did NOT correct my spelling of democraps.
Jesse Jackson and other Democrats are trying to get all the states to allow prisoners and felons to vote. Maine, Vermont, and Wisconsin allow prisoners to vote. Illinois and a few other states allow felons to vote soon or right after release from prison.
It's time to update the total...New as of today NJ 1,668,003...MI 2,313,746...Conn 693,826...CO 1,101,255...all official results

I updated the national vote count yesterday. Pres. Bush is now @ 61.7 million votes. Here's a link to the FR thread which has the latest vote count by state:
